Fancy some rock in the top 10? Well Ghost are happy to provide with 'Mary On A Cross', a song released in 2019 but was picked up by TikTok in August and astonishingly so made the top 40 even going into the top 30. Blasted radio 1 had to play to slowed down version however for it's one play which was very annoying. A fantastic track and this is after the band scored a UK #2 position with their most recent album in the same year too. Great for them and for us all thanks to the Tok. This being another superb pick. Let's hope they'll support more rock songs though too.

THE BADDEST OF THEM ALL :music: Eliza Rose manages 5th. Originally entered to BJSC and came 3rd after being tipped to win. It immediately went onto smash in the official charts a couple of weeks later. I can't recall the last time as song was sent to BJSC then smashed so fast in the charts after. Anyway this is such a groove and it deserves to be acknowledged as one of the standout dance songs of 2022 among all the generic dance tunes flooding the charts as always. It was a nice breath of fresh air but I understand it was difficult for some to get on board as they likely prefer the average generic dance tracks. I do too when they are done good as a good number of them are also in my EOY. Congrats to Eliza on a top 5 EOY placement here!

Continuing on trend with dance anthems we have one from the tail end of 2021 that became a top 15 hit at the start of the year from Tiesto and Ava Max on 'The Motto'. This did seem to be my song of the year up until July I think. It's a complete banger though and should have gone top 10. Ava shines on the tune as well. It's easily my fave Tiesto song out of what's he released (10:35 not far behind though).

The final dance tune then and it's 'Afraid To Feel' by LF System who finish in 3rd. A massive dance floor filler from the summer. Again another kickstart of diverse dance songs performing well in the charts despite not being anything different that's made the charts ever but it's been a looong time for this type to smash again. I'm not sure if people were expecting this to be my #1 or not but if you did then I gave you a nice little shock. It does however recieve my #1 dance track of the year so there's that at least!

So we've finally reached it after all this build up and a massive top 200 countdown but who takes it? :thinking: it's either a male or a female that's what I can say.

Oh dear the number 2 jinx for Sam strikes again as 'SPACE MAN' ends up runner up for 2022. I guess it was destined to be. Perhaps someone else will break the chain and put him at #1 somewhere :lol: what a turnaround for the UK in Eurovision this year managing to dominate and come 2nd behind Ukraine. The contest is now coming to UK thus year as the winner couldn't host for reasons out of their control so expect Sam to pop up with his hippy grinning smile on TV in May. 'SPACE MAN' is a fab pop song to boot and his voice is amazing as well plus a happy man all over so it's good one BBC for finally taking the time to pick something worthy of changing our fortunes around (let's hope it wasn't all for one year though). Congrats Sam on being my 2nd song of 2022 :cheer:

The end is here and it's a HUGE congrats to Canadian singer Tate McRae with 'she's all i wanna be'. A top 15 hit and a slow burner at that after fearing it'd drop down early on. An extremely fun and catchy pop record and again the video is a grand package to it as well showing off her dance moves as she's a very talented dancer too. For some this might be a B rate 'good 4 u' but I don't care as it's super fun and I loved Olivia's too. I can't get the song out of my head this year. So darn catchy. I also doubt she'll ever top this in regards to her other hits but I hope she can release more fun, great records just like this one. Again.. well done to Tate!

Its also awesome to see Mary On A Cross so high up here, it didnt do as well on mine but still eoy top 10. BOTA, The Motto and Afraid To Feel are a nice selection too. From lower down, Its awesome to see No Romeo & Anti Hero in here along with Maybe Youre the Problem. It was good to see Girl Of Your Dreams and You're Not HArry Styles too, the latter was the highest dylan song in my eoy. Lizzo's 2 be loved and sam fender up there are both great picks, plus southstars superior version of miss you, and 2step and maroon in the top 40 is fab!

4. Tiesto ft Ava Max - The Motto Great collab! Tiesto on top form as he so often is. I hope this isn't Ava's last top 40 hit but tbf she just got super close with Christmas Without You so that could easily get there next Christmas!

3. LF System - Afraid To Feel Such a deserved #1 smash. Those tempo changes are everything *.*

2. Sam Ryder - SPACE MAN Not #2, how cruel :lol: I'm still so proud of Sam and still in awe that he nearly brought the UK a Eurovision win!

1. Tate McRae - she's all i wanna be I approve of this #1! It stood out very well on the chart show and on the radio in general, and well done to Tate for shaking off the one-hit wonder tag!

196. It was a cool sounding country track which I'd hoped did a bit better but certainly can't bemoan at a top 100 placing in the UK Chart really.

145. It's a decent song so I'm sure you're not alone there.

100. Is indeed. Such a catchy song and definitely my fave of the 3 now.

95. Once you get past the vocals a bit you'd start to like it more tbh.

66. Funny how TikTok can actually boost good songs too!

9. I know and especially putting into consideration that I hadn't been a fan of any of her other songs (that I've heard) although the recent one sent to BJSC proved to grow a bit tbf. She definitely deserved top 40 with this though which was a shame but yeah for her to chart at all is fab indeed.
