Posted December 8, 20222 yr LadBaby have announced an attempt at a record-breaking fifth Official Christmas Number 1 single in the UK. This year, Mark and Roxanne Hoyle will be joining forces with none other than TV's money-saving expert Martin Lewis for a cover of Band Aid's classic Do They Know It's Christmas? The proceeds from the new single will be shared equally between food bank charity The Trussell Trust and the Band Aid foundation. Last year, LadBaby made history as the first act to ever claim a consecutive four UK Christmas Number 1s with their track Sausage Rolls For Everyone, featuring both Ed Sheeran and Elton John. But LadBaby share the distinction of being one of two acts with four #XmasNo1s - the other being The Beatles, with four non-consecutive festive chart-toppers. In a statement, LadBaby said: "We never intended to release a fifth Christmas single but as ambassadors of the Trussell Trust we were not prepared to sit back and do nothing in a year when people are struggling more than ever. "So, a few months ago we approached Bob Geldof and Midge Ure and the Band Aid Trust to ask permission to rework the most iconic Christmas track of all time, Do They Know it's Christmas. And we were truly honoured when they said yes!" If they succeed, LadBaby will become the first act in UK chart history with five Christmas Number 1 singles, overtaking The Beatles for the all-time record. The single is available to pre-order now, and is released on Friday (December 16). The 2022 Official Christmas Number 1 will be announced on Friday, December 23. The full Christmas Top 40 will be counted down on BBC Radio 1's Official Chart Show with Jack Saunders from 4pm.
December 8, 20222 yr I'm not seeing this on any other news site, halfway down the page with literally no source given doesn't feel very official. I'm allowing myself to live in bliss for a while x
December 8, 20222 yr I didn't think I'd say this but sometimes I'd take X Factor again over this.. not that they were scoring Christmas #1's towards the end but still. I wish he would do us all a favour and stop. Hopefully something can prevent it.
December 8, 20222 yr Yeah I'd prefer X Factor songs over this lmao. I'm all for a good cause/charity, but why can't the songs actually be good?
December 8, 20222 yr Game over then. UNLESS, England were to win the World Cup. That would then be interesting, although Three Lions is not exactly setting the charts alight so far this year. Apparently the public can't listen to football and Christmas songs at the same time.
December 8, 20222 yr K I'm not seeing this on any other news site, halfway down the page with literally no source given doesn't feel very official. I'm allowing myself to live in bliss for a while x I think The Sun was the original source for the first reports of their single last year too so I would assume it's true unfortunately It's just never going to end isn't it <_< Can't wait for Christmas 2039 when LadBaby break the record for most #1 singles lol ~
December 8, 20222 yr LadBaby has 1.08 million subscribers. Sidemen have 138.7 million (combined). If LadBaby outsells them, then something fishy is up.
December 8, 20222 yr This isn't the first time Sidemen have released a charity single, the last one only got to #77 so it doesn't work like that. They have completely different demographics.
December 8, 20222 yr LadBaby has 1.08 million subscribers. Sidemen have 138.7 million (combined). If LadBaby outsells them, then something fishy is up. I don't think so necessarily. People like PewDiePie, iDubbbz, Jake Paul, etc, have released singles and not got anywhere near #1. There's many other factors at play.
December 9, 20222 yr I don't see the point though. He's already had 4! Christmas #1's. You'd have thought him going for the Spice Girls record and then a new record was enough. I don't see why he can't just tell people to support a charity only instead of release a 'song'. Edited December 9, 20222 yr by Roba!

Right now they only match The Beatles’ record of four Christmas #1 singles, I don’t blame them for trying to have the most now!
December 9, 20222 yr Once was like a sausage roll straight out the oven, twice was like a sausage roll from the fridge, three times was like a sausage roll that was out of date, four times was like a sausage roll that been smeared in dog sh*t, five times is like a sausage roll that has been spread in horse sh*t.
