Siobhan and Heidi both can sing in high tones but that’s their only similarity. Siobhan can sing whereas Heidi can’t sing well live.

It seems like it’d be a great opening track to me.

Here's a random gay enjoying the album:

'Today' sounds so much better than I remembered hearing it at Margate Pride in August (Mind you, in fairness by that point I was fairly off my face...)

I'm gradually making my way through this and I'm fairly impressed!

Yes, don't break your back doing it.

‘No Regrets’ is so f***ing good. That chorus is so gorgeous! The production is *chef’s kiss* and the strings… *swoooooon*
I’m not loving ‘Victory’ though. It feels so much like that’s the song they got “forced” to record coz the label didn’t have faith in anything else on the album so wanted a song that was a diluted version of other big hits of that time (like ‘Cheap Thrills’) but it doesn’t quite work, coz it’s not suited to them, despite them trying to make it sound as Sugababes-y as possible. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t mesh or something. (Hope that all makes sense lmaoooo )

I finally got around to listening to The Lost Tapes yesterday. I'm incredibly impressed! Lots of random thoughts:

I feel like if you didn't know the context behind these songs, then you'd not necessarily think "these songs definitely sound like they were recorded almost a decade ago". Most of the tracks come across to me as very timeless sounding, as if they could have easily been written and recorded this year.

I didn't think there's a single dud on the album. I was impressed at the range of sounds. I wasn't expecting a song like 'Drum' from them! 'Summer of '99' sounds like a smash.

Some of the lyrics hit me, I think it's not just the words but how they sing them. Including "I went to war for you, I could see through the dark into your heart" / "as time bleeds away, never waits for me" / "a stone's throw away, yesterday for me"... wow. Siobhan!! I'm really awakened to what an incredible vocalist she is.

I said it earlier on in this thread but now I'm really glad I didn't listen to most of the demos so that the album is fresh to me. Although equally I realise I've been missing out on some really special tracks!

Front to back I probably agree with the seemingly bold claim that this is their strongest album as a body of work. To my ears there's definitely single choices, so I'm a bit baffled that Polydor were allegedly struggling with this project. But even though it took years, I think things worked out for the best. It's great that this album adds to the Sugababes catalogue. If it had been released as Mutya Keisha Siobhan maybe it would have always felt a bit separated. It just feels right that these tracks are tagged as Sugababes.

I look forward to listening many more times.

If they release this physically or for their next album, I hope they also do individual picture discs! 1) because they are stunning and 2) it'll get even more sales!

In Mexico it’s at #14 and the third anglophone song in the list!

It’s a huge shame NMF wasn’t updated in Europe and especially the UK — it will get lost next week!

I mean, Summer of '99 is a love letter to those Miranda Cosgrove fans that really just thinks Sugababes is About Poop Now. Trust Siobhan to write a classy song about it - unlike Mark at Crown, that little bitch.

What I’m also eternally grateful to Sugababes for is those track lengths.

Even back in 2013 the album full of 4:xx songs wouldn’t be that normal, let alone now! So many amazing songs got spoiled lately because they were cut to 2 odd minutes! And here we get the album of proper fully embraced tunes.

So apparently it’s at #150 with 1,108 sales!

They really need physicals and more promotion in general, not just around this release.

When people saw that I saw Sugababes live, so many people said to me they didn't know they were back together, if they can have a successful tour with a lot of people not knowing, imagine having better promo and everyone being fully aware they are 'back'.

Honestly, not too bad. I'm curious what their streaming "sales" are.

With absolutely zero promo at all, it’s not awful. Considering that’s just basically mega fans going nuts without much if any casuals cross over.
Yeah, that’s pretty decent considering it got pretty much zero promo and it would’ve had a number of Christmas albums ahead of it.
