remember this is compiled from their charts and not the official ones so the peaks are from their chart.

personally, its quite a strange list, especially seeing hold me closer at #5, it spent 3 weeks at #1 sure, but then it dropped quite quickly after, dropping out completely after 13 weeks. some other songs lower down spent much longer on the chart. i mean kate bush spent 13 weeks in their top 5 and is down at 18! very strange list indeed

Why are there two versions of Not Over Yet

UK CHR popped off nonetheless

fixed it now sorry lol

Not Over Yet, so good they released it twice???

And why is The Joker and The Flop here and the flop second Lew Cap single? And Britney @ 5.

Good one.

The order is a bit weird, but as a whole it represents 2022's hits better than the official one does in a way.
What is this chart calculated with now? Is it Global stations airplay + Apple Music? I can't make sense of it, like how can Anti-Hero be #2 AND Cold Heart be #6? Unholy is really high but BOTA and I'm Good are quite low. I guess they've maybe used a points system for this, that's the best explanation I can think of.

Yeah probs a point system. The weekly chart is heavily weighted towards iTunes downloads rather than streams. And I suppose Cold Heart has been on the top 40 all year due to airplay.

TJATQ is a wierd one cos it spent 3 weeks at #1 there, but only charted for 8 weeks because one week it was at #6 and then it mysteriously vanished! LewCap Pointless has just been their #1 for 2 weeks before christmas. britney is mega confusing tho cos sure it spent 3 weeks at #1 but it only spent 13 weeks on their chart so it didnt have a ecciting chart run making it big eough to deserve the #5. its a strange chart. plus some big hits are missing like first class, that was a big hit on their chart but yet its nowhere

I don't see how you can look at a list that places 'The Joker And The Queen' as the 12th biggest hit of the year (it's closer to being the 12th biggest Ed Sheeran hit of the year lmao) and claim it represents the year better than the official one but hey ho

last year they put merry christmas by ed/elton as the 10th biggest song of the year... it had been on chart for 3 weeks :kink: i don't know how people think its reliable lol, such a strange list

welcome to syndicated radio year end lists, something that i somehow never see in the US anymore </3

I saw a jukebox with Big Top 40 Show on it and I took pictures of it, but I can't upload them here? I guess I have to upload them to Imgur first or something?

I would guess that perhaps they have some more extreme version of ACR for their charts. If you look, they've have LOTS of number-ones this year. And that might explain why songs late in the year can do well on this list too. Apple Music and Global Radio move very slowly it'd most likely be much slower than the official chart if they didn't have some system to speed it up.

They have the extreme version of ACR that is 'they just make up the chart' x

i mean it certainly isn't official as they claim it to be in any way whatsoever, but i wouldn't call it made up. And with the acr thing, i think they do have something similar, though they aren't transparent about it and it vairies from song to song. but there are occasions where songs which have been in the top 5 drop to the mid teens randomly if they've been in the upper regions for a few weeks
