January 7, 20232 yr Actually pretty shocked 'Fairytale' wasn't silver already? But good to see it finally getting there anyway, definitely one of the most iconic Eurovision winners. 'Talamanca', 'Digital Love' and 'this is me trying' certified + 'A Design For Life' going platinum :heart:
January 7, 20232 yr Author Surprised 'A Design for Life' is only just going Platinum, I thought it could have achieved that in the 90s alone as I had it in my head that it was a much bigger hit than it was (I imagine it was probably huge on radio but it's just not translated as much on the charts). It achieved 270k in 1996 (and that's without the total being later revised downwards). It achieved Gold in August 2018 so appears to be shifting less than 1k a week. I checked out 'Enola Gay' out of pure curiosity and it's nice to finally put a title to a song I've heard many times before. 'The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac' picking up a 7x Platinum certification despite long being replaced by '50 Years: Don't Stop' - its total stood at 2.051m as of the week it was replaced in the charts so it seems the remaining 49k has come just from sales. That works out at 228 per week (on its final week in the chart, 380 of its 2,500 chart sales came from pure sales).
