I would looooove that sound for her. I truly don’t think she’ll have a big hit unless it happens to take off on TikTok so she may aswell service the gays and have a bit of fun.

If she could work with SG Lewis, that would be PERFECT.

I really wish she'd write some songs with Tove Lo. Like 'Cool' or 'Grapefruit' type sound would really work for her.

She needs to go back to her earlier sound from prism era or teenage dream. Witness and smile were pale in comparison to her earlier work. The tracks just weren’t strong enough to produce decent hits.

Apparrently Katy held a private album listening party for some industry people recently to really good feedback and the album is mostly finished, exciting!

Also she's been trending on twitter after a journalist said that during the Witness era her downfall was "planned by some industry people" and that it was inorganic. Whether or not that is true, a number of hashtags have been trending on twitter and Witness has risen to #1 in multiple countries iTunes album chart and some of the songs rising up the songs charts as well as appearing on Apple Music.

Would love it if Katy could have a comeback with her upcoming album. The sentiment towards her seems to be very positive and I'm sure with the right song(s) she could have moderate-big hits again!

I’d be so here for K6 being a major comeback for Katy. Let’s hope!

For me, her lead singles are always killer (I’m counting these as being I Kissed a Girl, California Gurls, Roar, Chained to the Rhythm and Never Really Over), so I have faith that she’ll deliver again with the K6 lead.

It was no conspiracy. It flopped due to awful single chpices and Katy P's own terrible marketing and goofs.
^ A journalist who's written for Observer and Huffington Post made the claim that trashing Katy Perry was a deliberate move from journalists at that time, because it guaranteed clicks, generating a lot of money. So it's whether he's to be believed or not - but considering it's very true that the internet was full of anti-Katy content that year, perhaps his claim is true.

Few journalists chasing clicks does not equal the industry planning her to fail which has been the discourse here.. Obvously the label did everything they could to sell the album, but the choices were just.... wrong. Bon Appetit wasn't a good second single (they tried to repeat what happened with Dark Horse) and Swish Swish bish was like a flavour of the month.

Also, I don't think Skip Marley wasn't needed for 'Chained' - to include him and the album cover art were choices.

I don't think media can be blamed for the album's critical response, Witness just isn't a strong commercial album and I don't think there were many strong single choices off of it.

That being said, they can obviously be blamed for the way she was viewed as an artist, I've never seen such a rapid decline in favour. She was SO loved during Teenage Dream and Prism, then all of her goodwill and good fortune just kind of vanished? I can't help think the 'Bad Blood' saga did a huge damage to that, but there just seemed to be an odd backlash to her that she seemed at odds with what was happening. She just cut her hair?

I'd love to see support regained for her. I don't know if she has it in her for a full commercial success of an album, I'm not sure if she'd be deemed too old now for full radio support even, but it'd be great if we could get a PROPERLY good album from her and the feels of something that at least resembles positivity from the GP. Even if she could pull off Pink level success, that'd be a win at this point imo.

100% THIS

It's not a conspiracy at all.
