To be fair she's never really been an album artist imo, her albums are generally a selection of good tracks and a load of fillers/substandard material to pad the rest out so this isn't really much different for me (except the highs not being quite as high perhaps)

It's insane that the 'highs' on this album are barely mediocre — she's always had at least one incredible pop song on every album. There is nothing here.

'Britney Jean' will forever be the poster child of A-list popstar disaster albums but this is up there. How much time did it take to come up with this?

I've been really into I'M HIS, HE'S MINE this week but the other two singles didn't do major things for me so I wasn't sure what to expect from the album. It's definitely faceless and generic, which are words I'd never use to describe the other Katy albums, so it's a shame her identity seems to have been lost along the way somewhere. That being said, I actually really like the album. It's just fun bop after fun bop and that's definitely a vibe I can get with, so I'll be getting a fair bit from this album. I'm shocked anyone could consider it anywhere near the worst album ever, it does feel like the dramatics have been turned up to 11 in line with the general hate train going around (which is largely self-inflicted don't get me wrong).

As a Katy Perry album it lacks some key ingredients but as a fun pop album it succeeds x

Are we absolutely certain this is the same woman who released Never Really Over 4 years ago?

Wow what a letdown! I didn't follow the era at all so had heard nothing until I pressed play on the album and I'd say I went in with a pretty open mind, especially since I actually really really liked Smile, but this is really not a good album at all. The lyrics throughout are genuinely diabolical - there's SO many lines where you can tell she's saying the most absolute nonsense just to make it rhyme  I'm not even going to put an example because there's too many to choose from.

Don't. It makes me so sad. There are a couple bops on the album but I really do feel this could have been anybody's album.

What was that album in 2011?

Tulisa - The Female Boss had a score of 35

EDIT: That actually came out in 2012. And Katy has now dropped to a score of 34.

The Female Boss remains winning

Female Boss was ahead of its time. Those critics 100% owes Tulisa an apology!

So I’ve heard the album 3-4 times now. It’s better than I expected but by no means a great album. There are 4-5 songs which really saves this album from being a disaster.

I can’t trust any rate that has ‘Woman’s World’ in the good category :naomi:

Watching some of the performances from Rock in Rio is bringing these songs to life, ar least a little.

Even if this isn't an album I will revisit much, she still can put on a show! Can't wait for the 143 tour.

I'm His, He's Mine is rhe ONLY one I'm keeping!!

And true - Hollier, later solo Spice Girls albums, LM5 lmao what a name, that last ... ep? By Cheryl, any album after Blackout by Britney, and Funky Dory all exist, so ir can't even be top5 worst.
