Not knocking either of those achievements but I think it's more impressive if an artist does it with a proper lead single rather than being featured on a remix or whatever.
I mean regardless of your opinion it’s still in their official chart stats so  And Big Energy was doing absolutely nothing here until the Mariah remix, I doubt it would’ve been top 40 without her. Same could be said for Elton, he hasn’t had a top 40 with all-new solo material since 2005

Would Destiny’s Child years count for Beyoncé?

If you’re counting that then Diana Ross has a span of 1964-2005, with hits in 29 of those years if I’m reading correctly

I don't think the Mariah remix of 'Big Energy' was ever doing well enough to be top 40 on its own either though iirc? So you can just as much say it wouldn't have gone top 40 without the original also being available, it's not exactly as cut and dry a case of people only caring about the remix as say 'Preu'.

edit: it only peaked at #87 on UK Spotify, the original version didn't ever go top 200 but it clearly must have been contributing a decent amount bubbling under for the song to have made the top 40 overall.

Big Energy did significantly better on Apple compared to Spotify too (thanks to Spotify's refusal to support any version of the song, ugh) but it was always the remix leading the way, I don't think the original ever went top 100 there either. I don't think the original would've been contributing enough to make the difference between #21 and #41+ which, on one week it spent at its peak, was around 6k - enough to be safely top 75 that week alone.

Fair, I had forgotten that it was bigger on Apple.

Shania has x 2 Banquet shows on sale today - one sold out immediately this morning and another goes on sale at 6pm, capacity is 1,500 so another 3k in sales to be added.

Raye will need more than personally signed cassettes to win this battle - looks like her team have exhausted stock of the CD and vinyl which won’t help the cause :drama:

Not everyone who buys a ticket to a Banquet Records show also gets an album, so it doesn’t guarantee 3k sales

Shania’s Spotify vinyls still not shipped either. This will go to the wire!
So the difference went from 3.7 to 2.6k, good effort from Raye but sure Shania will fight back

Has there been an update today?

That is todays update!

But both had long periods of not charting top 40. The only years that Pink hasnt charted top 40 since 2000 are 2005, 2014, 2015 and 2022 which is pretty amazing. Coldplay are similar too as are Beyoncé and Eminem. That’s not to say Mariah and Britney didn’t have consistent runs like this but they weren’t quite stretching to 20+ years despite having recent hits.
