This was a hard call between BFIAFL and Wet Leg. They are both great pieces of work and both really deserve the award. Harry's House & This Is What I Mean were ok. Actual Life 3 was also quite good.

I'll be honest and say George is the least deserving of the bunch, Cench's material at the start of the year (i.e. 23) was ok but the way he finished the year was horrendous. As i've said Harry & Stormz's was ok but Fred Again should get it. I loved the stuff off of his USB EP especially.

I was half-thinking of running something similar, like I did last year, but hadn't quite got round to it so thanks for doing this!

 

The only category I struggled to cast a vote for is Best International Group, literally don't care about any of them. Really rooting for Rina to win New Artist!

Album: Actual Life 3 (I actually still haven't listened to it yet, or Stormzy's, because I am a flop but the other 3 nominees are all definitely not worthy of the award - Harry and Wet Leg both have some great songs but a lot of filler, while The 1975 is almost exclusively filler - and the stuff I have heard from Actual Life 3 has been great)

Artist: Fred again.. (largely same reasoning but also Fred had some other excellent singles that weren't on his album so even more confident in my pick here)

Group: Arctic Monkeys (they had slightly less filler on their album than Wet Leg)

New Artist: Rina Sawayama (she's not new but go off)

International Song: 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' (wow I had not realised just how mediocre this category was - I do like 'BREAK MY SOUL' and 'Anti-Hero' but both of them are far from the best songs on their respective albums)

Hip-Hop: Dave (I know he didn't release much but I can't bring myself to vote for any of the others at least for their 2022 output lol (sorry I've tried to get Loyle Carner and he just doesn't do it for me), the few songs/features we did get from Dave were high quality as usual)

Dance: Bonobo (I could have just voted for Fred again.. again (lol) but lemme switch it up as I'd love Bonobo to somehow win a BRIT and I have at least heard his album lol)
