I guess these votes were done before PP came out but still I did expect Kylie to be above Rihanna at least based off the latters lack of music except for the odd track or two in the past 5/6 years!

People keep mentioning this but I don't think 'Padam Padam' would have made that much of a difference to people's votes surely? Presumably everyone's basing their votes on whole careers, I can't believe the fact that someone just released a great song would have skewed the votes by much. A handful of points at most.

05. Closer

I think you need to be more specific as to which 'Closer' you mean :P

Shocked to see Rihanna beat Kylie (even though I foolishly gave her more points before Padam). I've absolutely loved this countdown it should be a bi-annual event! Hoping Madge clinches the win.

Oh. ‘Aphrodite’ album! A BANGER!
Kylie not robbed; she’s an ex soap star, with a limited voice and for me, questionable artistic merit, and yet 36 years on, she’s still having bonafide hits and has a massively loyal (oft blinkered) fanbase - I think the girl did very well, has enjoyed a great career and whilst not my cup of tea, she’s worthy of a top 10 place.

Limited voice? She has a THREE OCTAVE vocal range. Write it down!

lol so does my chihuahua, but it doesn’t make her a great singer! :-)

I think Kylie is a great businesswoman and has incredible staying power, and a good performer. I don’t think she’s a great singer but that’s far from everything.

So Rihanna has got to go today right? Or will we have another rate twist!

The same arguments could be applied to Rihanna though... Neither are vocal giants, neither have full artistic license over their work, however have certainly taken more control over the years, both have massively loyal (oft blinkered fanbases)... Just Kylie is better.

Well after yesterday, nothing would surprise me anymore. Michelle McManus is coming for that #1, isn't she?

Kylie still got more points this time than the 633 Madonna won with last time.
Kylie, Rihanna, Madonna etc none of them posseses amazing vocals but they have the x-factor ;) which is what matters

But isn't that just because more people voted this time?

It would be interesting to see her average score per voter compared to last time actually.

I’d be so impressed if Gaga got the win this time around but all the top three were in my top 5 so anyone of them could win and I’d be happy but I think Rihanna will leave next after a very respectable climb!

I wonder how a male version of this thread would do! I’d find it even more unpredictable I think given it’s largely females who have artist threads and create discussions on here.

Michael Jackson won in 2020 when it was last run - the rest is in this post
