March 10, 20232 yr Tap have obviously recommended artists who need a boost, and BBC have chosen the worst one of the bunch. Not sure if we need to get rid of Tap just yet. We'll see if they send more dirge next year.
March 10, 20232 yr Remember when Sam Ryder sais he was just the beginning, and we hsd no idea what Tap had in store for other years :cheeseblock:
March 10, 20232 yr Promising start on Spotify and Apple for Mae. Would be good if it was a hit way before the contest as tbh it does sound like one outside of Eurovision.
March 10, 20232 yr After 3 listens it’s a 6/10 for me, but that’s more than I’d give about 3/4 of our entries this century.
March 10, 20232 yr Phoned me friends to tell thrm how you did me wrong (Did me wrong, did me wrong) So now I write a song write a song Deee doo dee daa lee hoo haaa DIRE!
March 10, 20232 yr Added to Capital’s playlist apparently! Wow! I can’t get over the image transformation of Eurovision in this country over the last year. Taking a hit into the contest for once would be amazing.
March 10, 20232 yr 4Diu2N8TGKA Why is our entry the can can though!!! Rrally does sound identical. The staging will be her and a few dancers holding baseball bats, walking around a graffittied and smashed up car on stage  This really is an EMBARRASSING rip off of Slo Mo. Slo Mo was about the DANCERS and the spectacle, with a dance bop behind it all. This is just paint by numbers UK pop. It's terrible.
March 10, 20232 yr I know iTunes sales are low etc., but it’s nice to see there is interest outside of the UK in the track post the announcement United Kingdom #1 Sweden #5 Ireland #13 The Netherlands #17 Belgium #24 Spain #40 Austria #75 France #136
March 10, 20232 yr I strongly disagree with the comments stating Mae has no charm as I think she's shown great personality in the promo following the announcement. Granted this doesn't scream winner and while it may not build on Sam's momentum from last year, I don't think it's destroyed either.

Granted this doesn't scream winner and while it may not build on Sam's momentum from last year, I don't think it's destroyed either. ^^ This, also I’m sure people are watching the level of success she has - she’s been releasing music since 2018 and has only achieved 1 chart hit, if she can get a hit from the song and pave the way for future success then it shows that ESC is a great launch pad once again for a British artist, that’s ultimately what will build momentum.
March 11, 20232 yr Definitely prefer the video version (with the spoken word middle 8), it helps the last chorus pop. I hope she performs that version in Liverpool!
March 11, 20232 yr Moved up to 8th place on My Eurovision Score Board - definitely getting a Warner reception in Europe than on Buzzjack
March 12, 20232 yr Moved up to 8th place on My Eurovision Score Board - definitely getting a Warner reception in Europe than on Buzzjack  My unpopular opinion: This is the best song the UK has sent to Eurovision this century and the only one that has a possiblity of becoming a real hit prior/after Eurovision on its own merits. Space Man was only a minor hit after its placing in the final. Am I the only one who thinks of Little Mix while listening to this song? This could have been one of their top 10 hits.
March 12, 20232 yr It's trash, sorry. Love Island pap pop. It's on the ssme level as Poland's song. Poland also chose bsdly this year hmm, after sending s song v v similsr to Spaceman alst year!! They had a winner contender, and we had three - Birdy, Calvin and Ellie and Rina. Hmm!! Coincidence?? Also, compare it to Loreen!! No contest.

I’m really enjoying it and the comments are mostly positive on YouTube and Mae’s social media. The fact that it’s gone to #1 on iTunes and performed well on streaming while also being playlisted by Capitial shows that it’s a song that fits in with the UK music screen rather than being a Eurovision song. I really hope it’s a decent sized hit, it’s exactly what writers and artists need to see happening with UK entries.
