33. Madonna - You'll See 1185pts

Low scores - Boymetworld91 1, Daan 1, Jason 1, RabbitFurCoat 1, BananasInPyjamas 1

Average score - 24.2

You'll See was one of the new songs on Madonna's ballads compilation 'Something To Remember'. It divides opinions on here. While equalling Self Control's total of three maximum scores, it also has the most one point scores so far with five voters putting it in bottom place.

'My Happy Ending' is my favourite Avril Lavigne song  her first few albums will always have a special place in my heart.

Don't really care for those other two unfortunately

I actually really liked that Madonna song, reminded me a bit of 'The Power Of Good-Bye' - certainly a much better discovery than the dreadful racket she had in the #4s poll.

Other 2 are both good but not essential.

'Strong Enough' deserves better than last, such a good track from her and 'Waiting For Tonight' is one of J-Lo's best too, quite the radio fodder atm on Heart. Much preferred that over 'If You Had My Love' also.

Also never liked 'Katy On A Mission' but it must have missed me at the time seeing it had lots of apparent hate!

Aww, quite a few really good ones gone - My Happy Ending is my favourite Avril song too and Sowing the Seeds of Love was in my top 3 </3 Such a wonderful psychedelic trip, needs to be better known.
Youll See had all those botttom votes 🤔

Wtf at all those 1 pointers for 'You'll See'? One of my absolute favourite Madonna songs  she certainly knows how to do a ballad.

I've always had a massive soft spot for 'My Happy Ending' too, so shame to see that go out so early.

I assumed that was just Madonna's contractually obliged appearance in a Buzzjack top 50. :kink:

Not that I hated it or anything (generally great quality means there's nothing I actively disliked in this list) and perhaps it was disadvantaged by the fact I wasn't already familiar with it in her discography so had only sought it out to review it, but i'd say it was the most non-descript personally.

I don't believe anyone could genuinely give 'You'll See' just 1 point, it's a great song - it's certainly stronger than many of the songs that are still yet to come.

Odd.

5 people placing You'll See as last with 1 vote :( really don't understand the hate :/

it's not Madonna's best song ever but sure isn't the worst song in this final

Edited by Bjork

It wasn't a song I was familiar with, but listened to the full 50 songs together to try and rank them all in order. You'll See and Self Control were both so dull I just put them as the last two, I don't hate the Britney song (my 3 pointer) enough to feel they were worth putting above it.

People so fixated on the 1 points and ignoring that the song got multiple 50 points as well. Look on the bright side xx

It's not exactly one of her most well-known songs, this seems like a pretty good result for it?

^ its just a shame some people vote tactically
I gave You’ll See low marks because I genuinely don’t like it that much - sorry!

From 1991, this is Metallica's highest charting single along with Until It Sleeps which reached number 5 five years later. Overall, they have four top 10 hits to their name.

This was the only song from the 50s, 60s or 70s to make the final. It was the fourth and final top 5 single for The Monkees with all of them charting in 1967.

Not a huge rock but Enter Sandman is comfortably one of my favourite songs from the genre, great to see it qualify in the final and then do reasonably well here
