miley's new single

I saw in the US about a week ago that it was charting lower than one of her album tracks on Spotify.

Damn, was hoping Flip a Switch would

climb again today

Oh Tyler in the top 40 now! :o Guess the debut yesterday must have been from only a partial day of streams then?

Not sure how many new tracks there are on the deluxe version of his album but if there's this much interest in this track hopefully the album can manage a decent re-entry.

Oops at Ed

(Obviously a fairly good showing in general, but he was the biggest chart force until recently)

Spotify

New Peak:

5. Libianca- People

140. Switch Disco, Ella Henderson, Robert Miles- REACT

160. Zara Larsson- Can't Tame Her

Re-Entries:

149. Superstar Pride- Painting Pictures

183. ArrDee, Cat Burns- Home For My Heart

190. Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrell- Ain't No Mountain High Enough

191. The White Stripes- Seven Nation Army

198. The Lumineers- Ho Hey

It definitely looks like Ed's imperial phase is over, unless this single is just a blip.

I don’t think it’s a good showing for a lead single for someone of Ed’s stature at all tbh. I’m sure it’s got him a bit worried!

Edited by No Sleeep

Good for him to have a near-decade long imperial phase really, it’s one of the longest I can ever remember. But you can see his stock is starting to fall now - tours aren’t selling out as quickly, album sales are considerably lower, singles sales and chart runs are gradually on the slide. He’s still huge but a more normal level of huge, not an untouchable level.

I mean in my opinion the song just isn’t that good

I mean it’s not bad but it’s got absolutely nothing on bad habits and shivers

^I agree the song isn't his best, but I agree he's in decline too, you could see it with his previous album (it was more visible in other countries). To be fair to him, you can't NOT decline from his peak lol.

I'm predicting his next album opens with 70,000.

He'll still be getting hits, but I think this will be the moment he starts transitioning into more of an album seller.

Maybe but you’d think he’d debut highly based on name alone, it indicates a lack of interest. I think he should’ve taken more time off

Yeah, I feel like what partly made x and Divide so big is that there was time for people to miss him and build up some hype. Also, the quality - imo - was leagues higher than the quality of this single and the stuff on =.

He's charted 15 different songs since Bad Habits, which is only just over a year and a half ago - not just his solo stuff but he seems to pop up everywhere on features.

People are bound to get fatigue if you don't give them a break, overexposure never does anybody's career any good, no matter how huge they are.
