Thought I'd make a thread about the show seeing as I, like many others, listen to this every week.

You can listen live or catch up here.

Since the show was announced in 2022, I have been keeping track of of the songs played in a massive playlist which has now reached 800 songs.

New tracks played this week

La Roux - Bulletproof

Example - Watch The Sun Come Up

Freeloaders feat. The Real Thing - So Much Love To Give

P!nk - Who Knew

Mis-Teeq - Why?

Jay-Z - I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)

O.D.B. feat. Kelis - Got Your Money

Dr. Dre & Eminem - Forgot About Dre

Kardinal Offishall feat. Akon - Dangerous

Katy Perry - Waking Up In Vegas

Everything played is based on its UK release date so tracks from the late 90s may also appear

'Let Love Be Your Energy' isn't a Robbie song you hear on radio ever. Will listen along when I can to this to see if they play any more unexpected songs or not.
I'm In Heaven by Jason Nevins and Holly James still not on spotify :nocheer: , at least its on youtube again apparently.

Jason Nevins did mention on Twitter a few months ago that he was working on it. The Pop Activism page has been chasing him up on it.

Just switched this on and 'No Air' *.*

Kinda didn't know Toni Braxton had a top 5 hit in 2000 :o this is quite the upbeat number from her. 'He Wasn't Man Enough'!

It's also sampled in Burna Boy's recent hit 'Last Last'!

R1 will be playing 00's songs from 7am to 7pm on Easter Sunday!

Missed it but I see they played 'Release Me' today  as well as 'Who Knew', 'My Life Would Suck Without You', '19/2000' & 'Big Girls Don't Cry' <3

'Thunder In My Heart' now

They just played a guessing game with a caller who's born in the 00's and they said Janet Jackson 'All For You' was a #1. If they meant UK then oops.

(It was in the US but not here oop)

'All For You' is a tune though :music:

Thank you!

I heard that and thought that Janet Jackson had never had a UK No.1 so was surprised they said All For You made it.

Just tuning in for a bit now. Quite the change from McFly to Cascada

EWT is still such an anthem

Nice hearing 'Love Story' and now 'Poker Face'

Latest Survivor winner 'No Good Advice' on now :music:

'All The Things She Said'

'She Wolf' *_* not heard this in years!

The better version of 'The Climb'. Will pretend it's the other way round chart positions wise

Infinity 2008' 'My Humps' 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'

missed the former but I've been hearing it quite a bit lately anyway!

'I hate you so much right now, Aaaarghhhh'

Iconic Kelis debut

Never heard that Alan Braxe and Fred Falke track 'Intro' before. Only spent a sole week top 40 at #35 in 2000!

followed by 'One More Time' :music:

Samantha Mumba *.

Britney following after omg. Retro pop girl throwback!

Mario Winans and P. Diddy - I Don't Wanna Know got a play around 6pm - much like Metro Boomin - Creepin', but with "I gave you extra cheese" in place of "you used to ride in a rinky dink".

Roll Deep :o I zoned out around that time so didn't know they had a hit or two in 2005!

'Too Little Too Late' and 'Uprising' are two fab tracks <3

Didn't get to listen to much of yesterday but did hear some of Mollie and Vick's shows. Iconic as ever.

Will definitely listen to Sian's show on catch up this week. Glad they did the 00s chill again after last year.

  • 3 weeks later...

T Pain doing Journey was not what I was expecting to hear on there today even if it was just a live clip from a concert.

'Standing In The Way Of Control' is still a tune as is 'How You Remind Me' ;)

'Put A Needle On It' - Danni Minogue now. Gosh not heard this in yonks :music:

'Cold As Ice' *_* not heard this since I was like 9 or 10 lol
