I can't really complain much about most of Calvin's No.1s, he's produced some fantastic stuff over the last 15+ years. We Found Love and One Kiss are two of my favourite songs ever, and Miracle is doing a good job of joining it at that kind of level, it's completely euphoric.

I don't like Holiday much, and Under Control is a bit bland considering I generally enjoy all three artists involved int that.

After some deliberating, I think 'Blame' might actually be my favourite! I'm a sucker for that distorted guitar sound (which is why 'Feel So Close' is my favourite Calvin single and deserved to qualify for this list), and I think it's a great song too.

 

Least favourite is 'Summer', I honestly hate that track with an almighty passion. Bloody awful.

1 Miracle - despite being new I really think this will stand the test of time the best [fave]

3 Blame - one of his best ever productions

4 Summer - another great production, gets too much hate

5 I'm Not Alone - easily the best from his earlier days

6 Promises - love the grooviness to this track & sam's vocal

7 Call My Name - pretty good, evokes fun summer memories

8 Dance Wiv Me - bit of a jam, definitely the superior dizzee song

9 Sweet Nothing - the production in the drop is a bit jarring but great vocal

10 Spectrum - not much to separate the flo tracks but this tired on me quicker

11 Under Control - I like hurts' vocals but the production is one of his most autopilot

12 Holiday - I like the trancey outro but the rest of the song is pretty lame

13 One Kiss - overplayed and overrated as hell part 1

15 Feels - limp, lifeless and a total bore

12 I'm Not Alone (actually had to remind myself which one this is, not one I've heard much over the years as I didn't pay the charts any real attention at the time but one of the better songs with Calvin's vocals on)

13 Blame (John Newman's vocals... no thanks)

14 Under Control (very boring, uneventful)

15 Summer (honestly I don't enjoy his vocals at all and they're at their worst on this)

 

I find Calvin quite overrated on the whole actually, it's only the top 2 here that I LOVE and they're not even his songs first and foremost...! My favourite Calvin songs would be his other two Ellie ones and How Deep Is Your Love.

1 Feels - it needs to be established that Funk Wav Vol 1 is peak Calvin, and a vital turning point for him - unstoppable groove on this, an essential summer tune for those who enjoy fun x

2 One Kiss - one of his finest productions, and Dua fits the vibe perfectly

3 Miracle - early days for this but tis a certified banger

4 Sweet Nothing - better than I initially gave it credit for, probably my favourite of the 18 Months era now

2 Spectrum (Say My Name) (will always be one of my favourite chart memories for how absolutely out of nowhere this #1 was at the time even if it doesn't seem like it in retrospect)

7 Under Control (could be in the great tier as well tbh but it suffers from being a bit unmemorable because I always confuse it with the superior 'We'll Be Coming Back', this still bangs when it's on though)

10 One Kiss (really loved it at first but in retrospect it's not thaaaat good - I do wonder if the same might happen with 'Miracle' just for how much of a pastiche it is but we'll see. Did enjoy this a lot when seeing Dua live though)

Genuinely don't think I've ever heard I'm Not Alone before, maybe would be higher if I had more nostalgia attached to it. Under Control isn't very familiar either, but it sounds so similar to his other songs from that time that I can't really tell if I recognise it or not.
