Nobody even used the word 'flop'. What is it with defensive, dramatic stans that can't handle a few people on a music forum saying the song is (so far) underperforming and it's not looking good for the chart performance? Did anybody say the word 'flop'? Anybody write the song off completely?

 

Falling out of the top 200 after one day when you've had a fanbase of 11 years from Little Mix (who literally saw them last year in sold out arenas) is strange. Everyone in the country knows Little Mix and anyone who is a fan of them will know for damn sure that Leigh has released music (it's all over Little Mix socials) so why her own fanbase isn't streaming the song is an odd one.

 

Of course the 'casuals' aren't on board yet because it's not on the biggest playlist they use for streaming music but why aren't the Mixers streaming?

I'm so excited for the coming weeks for this, idk why. Usually by the time a first week result happens I feel a bit "ok maybe this won't become the hit I think it was going to be", but idk it feels different for this at this stage, for me. Look, I'll be happy to say I was wrong if it doesn't reach my expectations :lol:

 

She's got to be commended for doing it alone tbh. No big feature and no "controversial exit" press for leaving a big girl group (ala Jesy/Camila etc..) I'm fairly certain her sales should be enough to get her a top 10 debut and hopefully press from that gets people into it more.

 

(and getting ahead of it - if it manages to get top 200 again during the week... can y'all NOT when it inevitably falls from it's positions (major falls) in the weekend updates for the next few weeks, thank you!!! :heehee:)

The whole *insert a popular group* = automatic support for them individually as soloists has always been a bit of a weird take to me, personally. That was never going to happen. Take every other group for example. 1D solo are all varying levels of success. Harry is one of the biggest stars in the world rn. Liam is not. Niall is a decent album/singles seller. Zayn varies and would smash if the right song/collab comes along and the other one... I don't even know. Pretty much just a touring act - sells out venues but that's about it? (His albums aren't massive sellers for example). Even going as far back as Spice Girls. Varying levels of success as solo artists.

 

It absolutely SUCKS that they can't get behind them in the way we would like, but unfortunately that's just how fickle people and fanbases are and can be. :drama: (although I'd say a lot of them are doing their part with the physicals if it's true that she's shifted 10k physicals?)

 

But lets also remember... how many times did we also initially bitch and moan about Little Mix's streaming support? :lol: It's just the way this industry is nowadays, it's so unpredictable.

I think this will be a slow burner of a hit. It’s definitely a grower as it was a bit underwhelming when I first heard it but now I’m absolutely loving it. I like the fact there’s no rent a rapper tagged on for extra streams. I thought Jade would have been the first to get a big solo hit but I think this has a chance of becoming one.

Who knows though, maybe this will end up being a 3 week wonder and I'll have egg on my face :lol:

 

But we can cross that bridge when we get to it, OK? :heehee:

3. I enjoy the positive & negative (& neutral!) opinions because honestly it doesn't really work as a discussion if its just praise X, praise Y post after post while ignoring any negatives as an elephant in the room!
