April 28, 20232 yr Current Positions iTunes #1 Freya Ridings #2 Jessie Ware #3 The National #6 Nines #10 The Lottery Winners Amazon Physical #6 The National (CD) #8 Jessie Ware (Amazon Signed) #30 The National (Vinyl) #67 Jessie Ware (Vinyl) Looks like they are having the non streaming advantage over Nines with Nines not even in the Amazon Physical
April 28, 20232 yr Nines’ album has got mixed reviews from what I’ve seen on Twitter and TikTok. On a first listen I’ve had, I would agree with those saying it’s not his best project and hasn’t moved me as much as Crabs In A Bucket did. I wonder whether this will slightly harm his streaming numbers as the replay value throughout the week will fall from his core fans/audience.

I dont use TikTok but on Twitter I would say the reception is good, and more positive than when Crabs in a Bucket first came out. Edited April 28, 20232 yr by platinum

April 29, 20232 yr ^ Oh my that's crazy :D label must be happy, that's a dream come true for a label :D
April 29, 20232 yr Shame Jessie seems to have picked a week where she's not even in contention (Although having said that, the new album isn't even 1/10th as good as What's Your Pleasure so I guess I can live with it) She / her team certainly have done this a few times.
April 29, 20232 yr Will be an interesting week - looking forward to the first mids. The Lottery Winners are making a fun thing of Jessie’s comments View this post on Instagram Jessie has a signing today at Rough Trade East and judging by their insta there are several hundred there for it
April 29, 20232 yr I only just noticed that Tom Meighan pushed his album back a week! The #1 will of course be blocked by Ed, but I imagine it'll give him more of a chance to debut in the Top 3/5.
April 29, 20232 yr Did anyone just see Freya Ridings live on Instagram?! Literally sobbing after finding out her current sales and expected chart position  The grim side of releasing an album when expectations are high
April 29, 20232 yr Really? :/ but sure they already knew the pre-orders, all labels know that, that's why some postpone and release further singles or promo low sales cannot come as a surprise for the label/artist
April 29, 20232 yr Really? :/ but sure they already knew the pre-orders, all labels know that, that's why some postpone and release further singles or promo low sales cannot come as a surprise for the label/artist I guess there is always the hope that pre-orders get boosted by additional sales when the album comes out? They already moved the release date due to Ed so I guess the label wanted a #1 and the pressure is there to achieve it? I have to say the current albums situation is not sustainable - artists spend years in some cases on releases for it to be a 3-out release, it must be pretty disheartening for most album campaigns to be over in a week and the hustle of selling multi formats, signings, launch shows etc., in release week.
April 29, 20232 yr She said on Instagram that she's not expecting it to chart at all... surely it hasn't done that poorly?? Unless by that she just means the Top 10/40 or something like that.
April 29, 20232 yr "Sometimes we cry 💿 still so grateful for you love and support of Blood Orange 🍊 we’re probably not going to chart 📊 it’s been 4 years of love and bravery making this album and I couldn’t have done it without you. Love you all." "We're probably not going to chart" - surely her sales aren't that tragic?! :o (Edit: Just saw your post now WhoOdyssey!)
April 29, 20232 yr it's impossible, 1K and you make the top 100, you can even make the top 40 with 2K
April 29, 20232 yr Sorry for her... but I'm team The National as always, only afraid of Nines, his streams are huge.
