May 4, 20232 yr I would like to think with 2 days left + the extra missing streaming data for yesterday that she should do over 11k? Particularly if she's signing more! Would be amazing 5 albums in to have her biggest opening! It's a rare feat for a british female artist to have 5 top 10 studio albums as well. I believe only a handful have achieved that: Kate Bush (10) - I believe she has the most top 10 albums by a british female act, Shirley Bassey (6), Annie Lennox (5), Paloma Faith (5) & Ellie Goulding (5). Honourable mentions; Little Mix (6) & Sade (5). Not sure if I've missed anyone else. Sugababes and Dido both have 5
May 4, 20232 yr Sugababes and Dido both have 5 If only Girls Aloud's Chemistry album hadn't missed the top 10 by something like 200 copies.
May 4, 20232 yr ah they should’ve waited for next week as the song is looking like it’ll be number one even without CDs unless they know something we don’t.
May 4, 20232 yr If only Girls Aloud's Chemistry album hadn't missed the top 10 by something like 200 copies. Hopefully the inevitable vinyl re-release will help get it into the Top 10 for the first time!
May 4, 20232 yr Latest album chart update: https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/n...ie-ware__39190/ 1. The Lottery Winners 2. Nines (1k sales above Jessie) 3. Jessie Ware
May 4, 20232 yr The fact that they haven't said how many sales separate the #1 and #2 makes me think it's probably not that close and it's The Lottery Winners' to take this week.
May 4, 20232 yr ah they should’ve waited for next week as the song is looking like it’ll be number one even without CDs unless they know something we don’t. I thought they would do that too and try and secure a further week but as you say maybe they have data to show it’s too close for them not to drop the CDs
May 4, 20232 yr Just received a notification that my Calvin/Ellie CD single has shipped…Same here. It suggests that sales may have been close on today's midweeks.
May 4, 20232 yr Same here. It suggests that sales may have been close on today's midweeks. The gap hadn't closed at all from Sunday to Wednesday so I doubt the sales would suddenly be close, the CDs were due to ship end of this week anyway.
May 4, 20232 yr I thought they would do that too and try and secure a further week but as you say maybe they have data to show it’s too close for them not to drop the CDs Or maybe they could try and ensure the next two weeks by shipping half of them now, and claiming there's a "clerical error" preventing the rest being dispatched until next week.
May 4, 20232 yr Meg Joseph no chart update Sunday 28th may has update now radio 1 due radio 1 big weekend
May 4, 20232 yr Just listened to the Lottery Winners' album and I enjoyed it, just as I enjoyed their two 2020 albums I checked at the time. They sort of feel like a modern take on 90s Britpop mixed with 00s landfille indie, but they're very good at melody - they clearly have good pop sensibilities, and pretty good lyrics too. Some interesting features on the album too, I liked the Frank Turner song, less so the Shaun Ryder one. Interesting that they've built up such a physical led fanbase, their streaming counts are nothing to write home about. It is a surprising chart topper but I guess it's got there through multi formatting and promo tactics, but good for them.
