So this playlist only covers Tue-Thu this week which means there'll be a new playlist on Friday as usual.

11 new entries! Can't think the last time that happened! And Shania Twain being on the R1 playlist in 2023 is quite something!

'Miracle' getting that rare dubious honour of being dropped while still at #1 :o

Presumably they're playing the Ice Spice version of 'Karma' even though they're not listing that version on the website?

So glad Joel has been added but I was expecting R1 not to add the song and wait until 0800 Heaven is released and add that instead

Shania is on the Radio 1 playlist in 2023  I know they’re fuming

I'm guessing Jess Glynne gets another week before they drop her.
I’m surprised they’re still pushing Virgo’s Groove when America Has a Problem is the one taking off

Yay at the Jungle addition, my favourite song to date from them *.* kinda surprised J Hus didn't get an instant A-List add but I guess they had a few too many of them this week already.

Great to see the additions of MUNA and Jungle (anyone know the last BJSC song to be playlisted?)

Reneé Rapp I guess? Unless I'm forgetting an even more recent one. (edit: Eats Everything/ShezAr was more recent - both of those being DNQs!)

Jungle being added isn't too much of a surprise ofc, John got a bit lucky that they waited a while so the song didn't just get vetoed

Strange they dropped 'Miracle' whilst it's still Number 1 and one of the biggest streaming tracks of the moment, plus it's sounding sooo good in the sunshine at the moment.

Unless there are any big new releases out this week that need to be insta added, I wouldn't raise your hopes of very much movement come Friday. Most obvious is Taylor moving up to A List and them flipping Beyonce's track to AHAP.

I’m surprised they’re ain’t a topic about songs being removed from R1 whilst still #1
Why do they flip songs so quickly - just play the current Lewis single and instant A List the new one a few weeks after that?
I don’t have the data to confirm, Mango would be better to advise, but I think your right it’s generally the comebacks or pre album releases. I imagine there’s bound to be singles instant added post album but mainly on release week like this one. I’m a supporter of obvious A list artists just being instant A Listed if they will end up there eventually and then reducing the length of their time on the playlist as a whole to counter the instant large amount of spins!
Well they do still have 'Wish You The Best' on there, just switched to a dual playlisting.
Yeh but what’s the point of that, are they just going to remove it and start playing the new add? Or maybe I’m totally wrong and they have just added it for a week or so before returning to the current single?
I think it just means they give the two songs combined the level of plays of a typical A-List song (don't know if it necessarily means a 50/50 split or if one of the two gets more plays than the other though). I guess if he is pushing 'Haven't You Ever Been In Love Before?' as a proper single now they'll probably remove 'Wish You The Best' in the next few weeks.

I would guess they'll remove 'Wish You The Best' in the next week or two and then switch to the new single properly. I'm not surprised he's got a joint playlisting, it's not uncommon for big artists, especially when they drop a new album. To answer the question that was asked, post-album singles do get insta-A-listed but only for the superstars. The most recent example I can think of is 'Late Night Talking'.
