June 2, 20233 yr unlucky for David G to spend 4 weeks at a #13 peak, but the song doesn't deserve a top 10 really. All My Life is surprisingly good by Durk & Cole standards. Karma is a bit meh from Taylor, like others said they ought to have pushed Hits Different over it.
June 2, 20233 yr the ice spice remix doesnt make the song better in any way... though its such a fun version. facts is so iconic
June 2, 20233 yr Author 11 | 14 | 6th week Rudimental, Charlotte Plank and Vibe Chemistry Dancing Is Healing 2nd single from forthcoming studio album Released: 21st April 2023 Label: Rudimental Chart Statistics NE (04/05/2023) | 66-47-33-23-14-11 Sales: 50k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 14 Sales 26 Audio Streaming 90 Video Streaming Video kIxe9ZKl5kY Biography Rudimental Music knows roots but not borders, and the same is true of Rudimental. Since forming in 2011, the London quartet of producers (Piers Aggett, Kesi Dryden, Amir Izadkhah, and Leon Rolle) has faithfully championed UK dance music’s hybrid spirit, fusing drum ’n’ bass, house, reggae, and more into a soulful amalgam. When they appeared with early singles like the barnstorming 2012 anthem “Feel the Love,” there was nothing else like them out there: UK underground dance tilted toward cozily retro house, while EDM was in ascendance around the world. Rudimental sidestepped both trends, favoring songwriting over club tracks and pulling from a broad range of inspirations—though songs like the shuffling “Spoons” proved them adept at the deepest strains of UK garage, and “Waiting All Night” could dwarf the biggest main-stage banger. Rather than hog the limelight, the producers turned the lens back on the multicultural stomping grounds of their native Hackney, whose famous Peace Carnival mural is depicted on the cover of their debut album, 2013’s Home. Similar themes of solidarity and community uplift powered subsequent albums; so did the group’s knack for finding exactly the right singer for their songs. In addition to their rotating cast of top-shelf contemporary vocalists like MNEK, Sinead Harnett, and Ed Sheeran, they brought in bona fide legends like soul icon Bobby Womack and South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It’s a way of acknowledging that, much as dance music needs to keep moving forward, it’s nothing if it forgets its past. - Apple Music Charlotte Plank Charlotte Plank is a 22 year old singer-songwriter-producer inspired by an eclectic array of artists, genres and eras from 90s grunge and DnB to modern Pop. Charlotte has been set up for an exciting 2023; featured in NMEs 100 emerging artists for the year and as one of the legendary Zane Lowe's artists to watch in 2023. - Spotify Vibe Chemistry Vibe Chemistry is a UK based Drum & Bass producer best known for his Radio 1 play-listed track ‘Balling’ and other vibe filled hits such as ‘Living Like This’ & most recently ‘Baddest’. June 2, 20233 yr Author It's been mentioned that the Barbie soundtrack has a fun, uncomplicated disco and that's exactly what the song encapsulates. What did you expect?? It's got nothing to do with Future Nostalgia I didn't say it's not fitting the brief. All I said was that I think the song was quite subpar for Dua and that it sounds a bit like it could have been a reject from her last album. You're entitled to disagree but I don't really appreciate my opinion being belittled. (I love Dua, she's amazing, but there's no harm in hoping for something better even from a soundtrack song)
June 2, 20233 yr Aww Rudimental almost managed another top 10. :( I think the way it's progressing, they probably still will?
June 2, 20233 yr It's been mentioned that the Barbie soundtrack has a fun, uncomplicated disco and that's exactly what the song encapsulates. What did you expect?? It's got nothing to do with Future Nostalgia I like Dance The Night, but I see what others are saying by it being a little "Future Nostalgia reject" (though maybe I would use a different word to "reject".) Dua obviously had a sound for FN and she will have a new sound for the next album. So usually pop stars want to keep that new sound under wraps for the proper lead single, so if they release something in between time like a movie soundtrack, it's usually quite inspired by the music they did for their last album than that of what they will do for their next. Dance The Night wouldn't have sounded out of place on a reissue of FN. Edited June 2, 20233 yr by ChrisJK
June 2, 20233 yr Author Anyone know the chart run for Euphoria? Did that even manage two weeks top 10? 09/06/2012 Loreen Euphoria 3 {3}-13-20-30-41-42-60-64R(2)-75-59-75R(41)->11 So no!
June 2, 20233 yr 3 weeks top 10 is great, but why is she only #10 when she's been higher than that on Spotify & Apple most of the week? Close sales? Edited June 2, 20233 yr by AcerBen
June 2, 20233 yr shame Rudimental couldn't quite reach top 10 but at least Loreen gets a third week in - I suppose that is karma for Feel the Love blocking Euphoria back in 2012 (and they'll probably get there next week anyway) (ideally it would be Cupid sitting at #11)
June 2, 20233 yr Radio 2 aside, is anywhere actually playing Tattoo? I haven't heard it anywhere or seen it on TV (I know there's no official video as such which doesn't help). Imagine how big it could be with more support... Nevertheless, three weeks in the top 10 for the Eurovision winner is pretty unprecedented. Its success is making Euphoria looks like a passing fad :o
