The first dance song to fall belongs to French DJ & filmmaker Quentin Dupieux, professionally known as Mr Oizo. An underground producer at the time, he produced the minimal house track in just 2 hours where it then went on to become a surprise hit across Europe, debuting in the UK at #1. Dupieux had also created a puppet character named Flat Eric for use in Levi's adverts and the success of the song led to his mascot featuring in the corresponding music video. Although still active, as of yet he has never had another top 100 single therefore remains a true one hit wonder here in almost every sense.
