Well I'm gobsmacked but it goes without saying I'm absolutely delighted they've added Padam :dance: No more crying tears on our pillows, they may have been a bit slow with it but I knew we had to give them just a little more time, it was never too late ;) Can we all stop accusing R1 of being ageist now? As for the TBC track and its alphabetical position on the A-list, I think Stormzy's the most likely candidate. If they were going to add 'Vulgar' they would have done last week after making it TOTW, plus there'd be no need for it to be a TBC at this stage. The suggestions from the other thread of Shawn Mendes, Sam Fender or Taylor (with 'Cruel Summer') could also be possibilities but my money's definitely on Stormzy. June 20, 20232 yr Great to see SZA, Kylie and Leigh on the playlist!!! :cheer: :yahoo: Interesting that SZA's label is going with Low as the next single in the UK as Snooze is just waiting to smash. But I guess there is already a video ready for Low so it might make sense to push it.

June 20, 20232 yr 'Snooze' wasn't playlisted so I guess it wasn't pushed to UK radio (I see it has been sent to a couple of radio formats in the US now though). I am surprised they're going ahead with pushing 'Low' despite 'Snooze' becoming more popular but here for it x Intrigued to see who the feature is if that A-List entry is actually Stormzy, which does look pretty likely. 'AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM' being dropped already and never getting more than a joint spot? <_<

June 21, 20232 yr It’s definitely going to be Stormzy. He put a clip of a new track on his Instagram yesterday. In the 10 second clip he name checks both ‘Fredo’ and ‘Dave’ if you want some suggestions on who the feature might be.

June 21, 20232 yr Yeah, I think Padam will probably go to the B-list next week and stay there, which is fine really, there's a big difference between the C and B lists, but not such a huge difference between the B and A lists.

I suspect Radio 1 didn't want to add it, but have done so to try to steer the conversation away from ageism on their playlist... If it gets stuck on the B List (whilst still slaying TikTok and streaming) it might not confirm that is the case, but I know what I'd draw from it. We'll see! No shade to Dua, I love her! I’d be shocked if it goes above C List, they’re clearly reluctant to fully get behind it. Nevermind the fact that a few weeks ago one of their presenters literally said Kylie “obviously isn’t a Radio 1 artist”! So I encourage complaints tbh

June 21, 20232 yr Author I'm trying to think of other examples of an artist going that long in between playlist support (with a solo lead single rather than a feature or sample) but I'm drawing a blank currently!
June 21, 20232 yr Take That probably went 10 years between playlistings, but that was different as it was a comeback. A 13 year gap when the artist hasn't been away for a long time is completely unprecedented.
