2007: 129th - 115,500 - My December

2011: 99th - 113,700 - Stronger

2012: 68th - 148,800 - Stronger [262,500 at the end of 2012]

15th December 2017 totals:

1,606,963 - Breakaway

275,227 - Stronger

205,594 - All I Ever Wanted

156,637 - My December

155,343 - Thankful

59,040 - Piece by Piece (certified Silver for 60,000+ on 11th May 2018) [released in 2015]

15,625 - Meaning of Life (this total was after 7 weeks on sale, its chart run up to this point was: 11-61-52-119-104-129-170...) [first week sales: 6,639]

Chemistry's release is a few months short of 6 years since Meaning of Life, which is a long time to leave it between albums. (There was a Christmas album in 2021, I just mean ordinary studio albums). From my perspective she hasn't done much to keep the UK engaged with her, she's very US centric, and ultimately I think it's been easy to miss the fact she's got a new album, even if you'd consider yourself to be a casual fan of hers.

Thanks for the insight hun

I actually really like Kelly hun as well.

Yes 6 years between meaning of life and the new album is a long time, such a shame as Chemistry is really good as well! I know the release of somgs has been a bit weird. They jjst threw a load of songs out in a short space of time maybe to try and help streaming? But I have not seen a single music video yet and I think the lack of getting behind one specific song hasnt helped the campaign as I feel throwing so many somgs out so quick hasnt given people chance to get hooked on one of them hun? Just a thought.

I love Mine though. The album is the best album shes done since Stronger in my opinion.

Just Carol Honey ❤️

thanks for the Kelly sales Jay!

poor Kelly, she's always relied on hits and promo, so without a proper hit in ages and zero promo, it's normal she's not doing well

I thought she was gonna do better though cos it's a dead week and she was #1 on itunes, but I guess this accounts for nothing these days

her tv show is huge in the US but I guess it's not shown in the UK?

Sadly not.

Don’t think Kelly has done any type of promo here for the album, so not surprised at the performance. I think Kelly is beyond the point of caring about international success with new music.

Huge Kelly fan but I think her pulling in those sales are expected - she essentially dumped the UK market years ago (which is understandable as she’s concentrated on her family and US TV career), there has been zero promo or UK focused push aside from signed artcards with the CD which pretty much sold out immediately.
Don't Say Love is out of the top 40? I can't believe this is going to be a flash-in-the-pan hit, I thought it had legs to at least do a decent run in the top 40.
I'm sure that's the reason, yeah...

Going mononymous when there’s very rarely people with that name would seem to work ie. Usher, Beyoncé but Leigh-Anne is too much of a common name to go mononymous. I typed Leigh-Anne Pinnock when I searched for the song and it wouldn’t come up. If she didn’t go mononymous, the song would’ve shown up even when I typed her full name in

Haven't you just completely disproved your own argument?! Because just typing in Leigh-Anne would have brought up the song?

Exactly hahahahaha

They should have been invested more money in playlist support, that matters more than having 1 name or 2 or 3 lol

Funny, it comes up as the top result when I type "Leigh-Anne Pinnock" in both Spotify and YouTube.

She's really missing out on the massive untapped market of people who discover music exclusively by searching the name Leigh-Anne Pinnock x

(seriously though, there's maybe a little bit of something to the mononymous thing as I don't know that her name is distinctive enough that people seeing the song in a playlist would realise it was her from Little Mix, but I really doubt that makes that much of a difference. I'm not sure that the individual members of Little Mix ever really became well-known in their own right in the same way say the 1D members did, they always seemed more like a cohesive group than a set of 4 people with potential future solo careers)

I typed Leigh-Anne Pinnock don’t say love on iTunes and the song wouldn’t come up

You're probably the first and last person to do that, iTunes is dead

the song was heavily boosted last week by CD sales, 8k of those were sold which made the difference between her charting at #11 versus charting at around #35

with those gone now it makes a lot of sense it's outside top 40 now

I’m still a little surprised it’s not increased in streams this week though, she’s decently positioned on Apple playlists.

You should tell that to Dave ;)
They put all their stock into the week 1 debut, but you can’t force a song to be a hit
