I'd get it if Sprinter had anything to it lmao, as dull as dishwater but I guess everyone has their own tastes 🙃

I know the Tory supporters hate Dave for what he called Boris back in 2020. I know someone who hates Dave and refuses to listen to his music for that reason

I don’t listen to him because his music is not something I enjoy - I couldn’t care less about artists political views although on the whole I think they are better to stay out of it as ultimately they will alienate some of their fanbase.

Love to see Dave extending the lead on Spotify today, it's still all to play for ofc but it's looking promising for Dave so far. Finally got around to listening to that Olivia song and it's pretty dreadful imo so not going to be upset if it misses #1.

Think Olivia will probably need to pick up on streaming ASAP to have a chance of going to #1 this week now, I don't think she's likely to sell enough physicals to close the gap at it appears to be at the moment (especially as she's doing disproportionately well on Spotify so probably has a not so favourable premium to free ratio). May still climb to #1 in a future week even if it misses out this week anyway though. And should still be at the very least a strong #2 debut, 'Sprinter' is still doing really well so not really anything to be ashamed of there.

Big drops for Lil Uzi Vert today, having heard bits of all the songs now I'm not surprised as it sounds extremely uncommercial for the most part! Hoping that 'Suicide Doors' can still make the top 100 but not going to hold my breath (think 'Flooded The Face' should be safe, but not sure what their 2nd and 3rd songs will be if they even keep 3 in the top 100 at all).

'Endless Fashion' sounded pretty bad to me but not surprised that one is holding up better than the rest, with the Nicki feature and it being yet another song sampling 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)' :')

'Just Wanna Rock' is already back to being the 2nd highest song from the album on Spotify, not sure if it'll be increasing enough for a reset though.

Good first day for Olivia on youtube. I don't think she will overtake Dave, or even D-block, in tomorrow's chart (when she has 2 full days).

Olivia is now up to #2 on Apple, bodes well for her holding up pretty well beyond the 2nd day drop on Spotify?

Good to see Cruel summer #5 on Apple

She's also recovered a bit on Amazon, #16 now

Bizarre that today on Amazon, Vampire has gone 48-51-52 :/

That's a depressingly "corporate" comment although for the most part that happens anyway. Music stars tend to be (with a few exceptions) very silent on the glaringly obvious problems in society and are very reluctant to challenge the status quo. Wasn't the case a few decades back and musicians through their art did challenge the Government of the day. Not that I'm a massive fan of the genre but good on Dave and Stormzy too being the very rare examples of those that do. Although you could add stars like Lady Gaga who are political in terms of social views (LGBT+ acceptance).

at least now Vampire is up a little bit on Amazon climbing this morning from 52 to 37!
No spotify singles update yet but the artists update for today has been uploaded. Olivia Rodrigo is back up 6 places there so I suspect she has made an increase in streams.

^on a Sunday, impossible...

this is today's update:

1 Dave 596K

2 Olivia 478K

4 Cruel Summer

7 Pakistan

Interesting to see Fall Out Boy's updated "We Didn't Start The Fire" climbing today! I noticed that it's been doing the same on the Apple Music alternative charts (I don't think it's too far outside of the main Top 200 now).

It seemed like the sort of thing that would completely fall away after curiosity streams.

I bet the Americans don’t even know who Dave is and the sooner Olivia increases her streams and the sooner Dave hits ACR, the better

506k Saturday to 478k Sunday is effectively an increase given how overall streams drop on a Sunday. I didn’t comment yesterday but her Friday to Saturday drop was also pretty small actually given the market as a whole shrinks and there’ll have been curiosity streams. So I think she’s holding up well.
Olivia's track isn't anything special tbh so I'm not shocked it's "underperforming".

She should’ve done another Good 4 U instead of another DL
