BMG really do not want Hold On To Now to succeed.

I just find it baffling how they have got it so wrong at every point of its release.

To be fair, it’s now the 4th single from Tension if you include 10 out of 10. I never expected it to do well and the later singles from her previous BMG albums haven’t fared much better. I think we’re at that stage with this album now that whatever’s released, it’s unlikely to do well.

Yes, but previous 3rd/4th singles did not get the 3 physical formats to help them.

If everything had come together properly and sensibly, then I feel like there was a good chance for this to perform better than previous BMG post-album singles. I mean, technically it already has with its #81 peak. There was an opportunity to improve on that position though, in November, but they messed it up because of Townsend's shipping policy.

If all physicals released and counted for 8th Dec release defo would have been top 20 on first look etc and created a little bit more of a buzz.

She sings HOTN with Gospel choir tonight i think so it should be good

 

i just hope she says somewhere in this An Audience with 'from my new album Tension' though i bet she doesnt lol

The fact there’s no mention of it being released on vinyl this week on her socials either - it’s like they don’t want to sell any more copies and literally produced them to shut the fans up :lol:

BMG really messed this up

I'm gutted for hold on to now, deserved so so much more

 

I'm pretty furious too. Like they really could not have done any worse if they tried with this one.

Sooo the vinyls must be counting for PP and Tension and because the streaming is so low for HOTN its failed

The fact that the vinyl sales couldn’t even slip HOTN into the mids :drama:

 

BMG literally ransacked this release and gave away I’m certain another Top 40 - they’ve gone to the effort of producing 3 physicals and then dumped the track.

They definitely through away another top 40 with hold on to now, if all physicals shipped in the one week, a remix released plus the download sales and some streaming they could have got that 3rd top 40 from the album and now it wont even make the top 75 :cry: :o

Yes it’s streaming is much lower isn’t it, so even the vinyl isn’t enough…plus perhaps it’s sold less vinyl than the other two.

 

Counting those bundled CD and cassette into last weeks chart was the final nail…a shame as her performance on the show was extra special with the choir and her explanation of the song.

On the plus side at least it has has managed number 81 and didnt miss the top 100 completely.
