Posted July 7, 20231 yr There are fans that think this a classic Kylie pop record and a perfect goodbye to her PWL contract (“celebration” doesn’t count as a pwl original). And then there are other fans who think it’s regressive and she took 10 steps back after the mature direction of ROL and LGTI. Which category are you? I’m in the first - it’s a Kylie classic!!
July 7, 20231 yr I think there’s plenty of other singles that I’d consider more diverse in opinion, but I’m firmly in the camp of it being a classic sounding Kylie song that celebrates her time at PWL, one last hurrah before moving onto another sound. I don’t think it’s a total regression either and I find the vocal notably more mature than it was on her first two albums. Kylie’s not a fan of the song.
July 7, 20231 yr I do like the song and its fun, but it did sound like a step back musically when it was released. More suited to album track than Kylie banger. As they were fulfilling the contract with the Greatest Hits, maybe they just threw something standard at her than top drawer. Where In The World is also on there (though not a single) and that is pretty "Enjoy Yourself album track". I wouldn't say WKOF is her most devisive single though.
July 7, 20231 yr Where In The World is also on there (though not a single) and that is pretty "Enjoy Yourself album track". Not gonna lie, I do have a soft spot for 'Where in the World'. It is very "Enjoy Yourself ballad" but I think it's cute!
July 7, 20231 yr Where In The World is terrible. What Kind Of Fool is a cute song and I think Kylie only hates it because the lyrics are quite pointed and sly towards Kylie herself.
July 7, 20231 yr I love it - it was PWL by numbers and maybe regressive but the perfect ending to the PWL era.
July 8, 20231 yr I like it but it’s certainly not as good or credible as any of the singles from rhythm of love. It did feel like a step back but it’s not a bad song but not one of her strongest.
July 8, 20231 yr Whole i really like it was a step back from the rhythm of love and let's get to it material but it felt like a bit of a nod to the sound she had huge success with but I think it also showed it was certainly the right time leave pwl.
July 8, 20231 yr Both! At the time I felt it was a step back. But it has stood the test of time - and grown better with age, and now I love it!!
July 8, 20231 yr It's a feel good song that I still enjoy and same with where in the world the bonus track on the original greatest hits.
July 9, 20231 yr I've been coming back to this thread and trying to think of the right thing to say, but I've never thought of it as being "divisive". It has its ardent fans, and those who view it as a regression but accept it was closing a chapter. Aside from Kylie herself who apparently hates it <_<
July 9, 20231 yr I feelt the same way as I feel with Spice Girls' Headlines - it fits perfectly into the collection when you listen to it, but as a standalone single... eeh, nah.

Aside from Kylie herself who apparently hates it <_< I’ve never heard anyone mention it in the fanbase really - it’s certainly not a ‘controversial’ song or single choice. I’m not sure I thought of it as regressive at the time, Kylie was still in her PWL pop mode despite wanting to break away from it and this fitted the assignment.

July 9, 20231 yr I think 2 hearts is alot more divisive as a single than what kind of fool. Yeah, would totally agree with this actually!
