Love the Oliver Anthony Music track :music: Guess it’s no different from Kunt & The Gang making the charts except 1. It’s good 2. It doesn’t have 87 versions priced at 59p.

And 3. It's for republicans and has a horrid message

Not convinced such a thing as an organic hit even exists. Like if it appears that way, it just means the astroturfing was concealed more effectively. There's always money and/or influence behind it.
'Richmond' has a longer chart life because the "buzz" is not as manufactured as with Aldean - his song only charted after the video release. I can see 'Richmond' becoming a smaller version of Last Night by Wallen, without the massive airplay.

Its #1 position in the US is very much sales driven of course, it's not gigantic on streaming even though #1 on AM currently.

According to this its 'unit' contribution from streaming last week was almost equal to its pure sales. It wouldn't be near #1 without having high numbers on both sales and streaming to overcome its near zero airplay, a quick rough calculation from those numbers says it would be ~#14 on streaming alone and ~#10 on sales alone, unless I am misunderstanding how the chart points are calculated which is entirely possible x

(Surprisingly its streaming numbers are actually a fair bit lower than Jason Aldean's were in his week at #1 (17.5 million vs. Jason's 30.7 million) despite this one getting to #1 on Spotify and Apple while Jason never got there on either - not sure if that means Jason had better streaming on other platforms or the bar has really got that much lower in the span of just a couple of weeks)

edit: occurred to me it may be YouTube that accounts for a lot of the difference since the Jason controversy was heavily tied to the video

Seems a bit unnecessary since she’s baso locked for #1 imo. Maybe she’ll do enough to surpass Dave’s sales and get a real #1 too

After last week, I don't blame her team for pulling out all the stops. Every Vampire could have higher physical sales than expected too.

better be safe than sorry, never a bad call to release more physical singles

NO OTHER SALES INFO

OCC rule tweaks usually come into effect at the start of July I think (and they're generally not actually publicly announced) so I assume they've been in place for a little while already without being noticed. (Although actually Tina Turner's passing was back in May so maybe it was even earlier than that)

Only 462 streaming sales for Hozier? Surely that can't be right?

edit: oh that part just hasn't been updated since Monday, although that seems surprisingly low even for that
