Sounded pretty instant to me and these whistle pop songs always do well after a slow start so maybe it will pick up after the movie comes out and become a hit.

Would be cool to see them in the charts again.

Is that just tagged that was on iTunes or is that now the name of the band?

I can't with the ego of some people when they do this, I'd be embarrassed personally:

Diana Ross & The Surpremes

Nicole Scherzinger & The Pussycat Dolls

Justin Timberlake & NSync???

It’s listed the same on Spotify too so guessing that’s the name of the band now ‘NSync & Justin Timberlake’

It's just to give the song more reach by appearing on Justin's profile on streaming services. Lots of releases in the streaming era have superfluous credits like that. Justin isn't individually credited on YouTube where it would not have the same benefit for example.

To be fair, Buzzjack does the same with the AF names:

Harry Styles & One Direction

Robbie Williams & Take That

I find it a bit strange on here too tbh, but at least that isn't the act themselves choosing to be the centre of attention.

Eh, it's just a tag for streaming platforms. On the cover art, in press releases and on YouTube it's clearly still just "*NSYNC".

That's fair enough, hence why I asked the question, is it or not?

How’s this doing in the US?

It's not doing much on streaming so far unfortunately but it's expected to debut in the top 30 on billboard hot 100 thanks due to strong airplay and digital sales on its 1st week out.

Not too disappointing I suppose! Hopefully climbs once the movie is out!

I know this is a Robbie & Take That forum.

However, like Robbie and Take That once upon a time. NSYNC have reformed with their superstar solo member, Justin Timberlake.

I know 'Better Place' is a one off single, and tied into a huge Dreamworks film.

I always thought their reunion would be huge, even for just one single. Justin etc. Yet the song has only charted on Belgium, Canada, and the US national charts so far.

Was 21 years simply too long? Should One Direction be taking note? Robbie came back after 15 years, however, as we know Take That had been revived succesfully by the other four prior. Not dormant, like NSYNC.

Is Timberlake not the selling star he once was?

Thoughts?

I like the song, it is catchy, but hasn't stayed with me. I thought they were fantastic in their day. I bought 'Tearin' Up My Heart' and 'Pop' singles and their 'No String's Attached' album. They were never majorly popular in the UK. I only knew one other person in my year group who had one of their cds.

Definitely NSYNC over Backstreet Boys, if we are going there (!)

I don't know much about boy bands generally but on the wider subject - I think the fact that TT had already come back and been so successful as a four piece definitely helped for when RW re-joined.

They achieved so much as a four piece and acquired a whole new set of fans that were only interested in them as a four. Also I think the constant disagreements between fans of them as a four, as a five and also Robbie fans who weren't interested in a reunion at all -definitely helped in generating interest/publicity/sales. It was never ending.

Also even between the years 1995-2004 when TT weren't about -Robbie was always singing about/referencing them in interviews so they were never far away.

Plus of course the fairy tale ending and joy between them for Progress was perfect

Was there bad blood between JT and the rest of the band in the intervening years? Maybe their story didn't include all the drama/heartache/redemption of the whole TT thing.

It was the perfect storyline.

I agree with Laura. I also think that JT and N'Sync have lost quite some star power outside of the US. Not many know him as musician anymore and now he will be more interesting as the person in Britney Spears life.

Rob had been huge everywhere aside the North American market untill TT came back 2006 so like Laura says this was a story with less interruption. Plus...Progress and the Flood had been really really good song/album
