Not your fault at all Rob, I don’t think it’s clear and I’m not entirely sure if a Coldplay rate has ever been done properly on here before so it’s open to interpretation as to what singles they would have used. I can see there are going to be personal preferences for many because of the extensive back catalogue of songs, and if I was able to include album tracks I would have rated highly the track Politik from their second album, but I obviously didn’t. I didn’t know Hypnotised wasn’t an official single but I recall it charting at the time and enjoying it too. Not sure how well I recall Everyday Life though.

Yeah as much as it got promotional single treatment I'll opt to leave it out as I'm not going round the houses pming again lmao.

Of course that's absolutely fine! :D It can be increasingly hard now to decide which songs should be included in rates like these and there will often be cases like this! I enjoyed Everyday Life but I'm certain that it wouldn't have challenged for the top either.

 

As Wardy says there are plenty of great album tracks they've done too (this discussion even reminded me of how X&Y album track A Message charted five years later to raise money for the Haiti earthquake, so there were always going to be confusing situations going down that path with that and Hypnotised as already mentioned :lol:) but keeping it as a singles rate always made the most sense to get high participation, and of course I'm just happy that you're running this rate in the first place! Really looking forward to the results.

Need to remember to do this tomorrow! (I've seen some disgustingly low scores for one of their best songs x)

There used to be a Coldplay Artist Forum so it has definitely been done.

I've started listening to the Spotify playlist now to get a little refresher of the songs (there are a handful there that I don't remember super well, and I won't be complaining at hearing the vast majority of the ones I do know well x), I'll be pausing at 4pm for the #2 singles session but will finish it off later so will definitely get some scores in this evening ^_^

Forgot how good the album Viva la Vida the ALBUM!! I

is, even if it did signal the start of their MASSIVE decline to come, ans repredented a massive sonic shift. Lovers in Japan is a highlight and much better than Lost.

I did start doing some .5 Votes myself but noticed no one else was doing them so left it haha as will see shortly. We did get them for the u2 and Jamelia rates however!
