I think it just proves that payola, Spotify exclusives and the much touted ‘reduced artist royalties and payments’ in exchange for exposure is real.

BMG seemingly are not playing the streaming game and probably know the £££ involved in getting a ‘hit’ - that’s why they base their business model on physical selling album artists rather than chasing the singles chart.

Give us a download and physical in week 1 BMG and we’ll provide a Top 40 with it without Spotify!

Yes my hun

Such a shame because I bet most of the Kylie singles from Golden and Disco would habe been top 40 if they did this.

Tension rising fast on Amazon Music

Up to 132nd. It took PP about 2 months to start climbing like that

It's on their biggest playlsit All Hits now

Thats great to hear my hun

This week 2 so far conservative estimates

Cassettes (12 sept) 2k sales maybe?

CDs (already available) 100-200 sales maybe?

Streaming (mix of platforms) 5k maybe?

Downloads (nothing new yet) 1k maybe?

Approx 8.2k sales for week two?

Tactics could use

Reduce price

New download mix

Added to playlists

Radio plays

Any other promo

I’m so bored of all the social media posts regarding Townsend postage - they’ve always been high for every artist and yes there is probably an element of profitability, but it’s been this way for years (The Busted bundle I ordered was £9 in postage!).

It’s frustrating with all the drops with additional postage but… buy them or don’t tbh, also I know others complain about Townsend but so far I’ve never had an issue and they’ve always been packed better than elsewhere.

*delete* My whole response disappeared!

So... As much as I love Padam... I definitely prefer this! I also can't (and could never) see this hanging around to the extent PP has...

And I think I've just realised why both of those thoughts are there...

Tension could do easily be a new Girls Aloud single... The structure feels very Xenomania! Almost a beefed up/house version of Go to Work with catchier lyrics. And GA singles, whilst often going Top 10, were (more often than not) not exactly enduring smashes. The sort of songs that the gays (me included) LAP UP, and become cult classics, but were never really general public megahits!

More than happy to be proved wrong on the latter point, but I'm grateful the Padam has allowed this to have a leg-up out the gates, and convinced BMG that it's worth putting thought into the first few weeks of its campaign (physicals/release timing etc) 😍😍

Honestly THIS!

I really hope BMG realise now they can get hit singles with a thought out release rather than download, then remix 4 weeks later followed by another 2 weeks later and then a physical 3 months after release.

If they are releasing remixes and physicals anyway surely clocking up a few Top 40 hits with chart runs such as 29-56-72 is better than 86-out!

Could she not use a different retailer for her online store? There are many others in the business. Why does she work exclusively with Townsend?

Who distributes the free p&p ones for other artists. Is it just royal mail?

Obviously the label takes the hit but I bet they don't charge what townsend do. Hahah

The lack of big playlists is all down to payola. It's so wrong but money rules the world.

She could - apart from the ones operated by the major labels none offer particularly cheap postage, plus I think Townsend is a tried and tested retailer for Kylie, they are reactive, able to get releases out on time and they have negotiated with multiple international Chart compilers that sales from their store count towards their charts when shipped then (USA, Germany etc.,) which is a major plus and I’m sure why so many artists go with Townsend.

The Ed signed singles were sent via EVRI - they obviously strike some kind of deal and take any hit as ‘marketing’ costs for a #1, on the flip side EVRI ‘lost’ all 10k copies of one of Ed’s singles and the label had to get them re-pressed and signed again as they had already been reported and counted towards the OCC.

129 on Amazon Music.

Really good sign its moving fast this thar big playlisting.

All premium streams and a good market share 👌

Is it good news? 😂

On Fridays and Sundays, we are not allowed to post it on here. Or even hint to what it might be. Or Joseph comes in to spank your bum.

Actually that sounds like a good thing hun 😂
