I know it’s all very but Kylie seriously has had some tough weeks with PP and Tension - last weeks #19 sold just over 14k (14,021) and Kylie has had to shift an additional 2k+ for the same position this week!

It’s really typical :drama: and there’s been numerous weeks of #6/#7 positions having lower sales than Padam Padam needed for weeks at #8 and #9 <_<

Ya it's done what we wanted, hopefully it can have a nice few weeks on the chart aswell.

Even if it drops straight out the Top 40 honestly this is still a massive moment - a Top 10 and Top 20 single when before the campaign started I expected none and would have been happy with the lead spending more than 1 week in the Top 75.

 

If it does fall out this week I think it’ll linger for a good few weeks and get an album boost.

The biggest success is that it's put back Kylie in the public eye, and more and more I'm seeing publications, blogs, radio shows, media....everyone finally being so positive about her, praising her adaptability and acknowledging her success. I don't think I've read a single bad article. If anything, appears a certain section is eating humble pie.

So looks like it would have still been #24 or #25 this week without the CD’s. Would have done 11,450 sales without them.

 

With CD’s adding around 4.6k, if they had been held back for this week we could have seen a sales increase in week 2. Oh well, they went for the higher position strategy and good for them.

Happy this went top 20! Hoping things will pick up streaming-wise. At least it's been climbing on Amazon.

Another thing to point out is that even if we remove ALL of Tension’s sales - including downloads - and just count streams, it would still have scraped into the top 40! (Total sales minus physicals and downloads were still marginally more than the number 41).

 

For years, we have been saying that streaming is keeping Kylie out of the top 40 – as she hasn’t been able to make the top 40, even when combining physicals, downloads and streams. But now this streaming figure is enough to make the top 40 on its own! That must largely be down to Apple - with a little help from Spotify and YouTube (her streams on Amazon, have only just started to take off today).

What I love the most about this (and Padam's success), she's showing the world what an absolute SUPERSTAR she is and that she's got her spunk back, and that other people are realising it
