Think back to when Padam Padam was brand new, and consider how you felt after your first listen of Tension today. Did you have a better reaction to Padam Padam or Tension on first listen?

I love them both but PP edges it for me - that dirty alien like beat at the start before erupting into an iconic song.

Tension is the perfect follow up though and I can see me hammering it as much as I did PP.

Padam Padam was pretty instant for me, I haven’t warmed to Tension yet! I didn’t listen to the leak either.

I think I found them both quite weird on the first listen, and second listen immediately after was like "oh yeah!"

'Padam' perhaps the most instant of the two though, it's a pretty undeniable balls-to-the-wall anthem.

I was more worried for Padam and the video but it grew quickly and when others enjoy it I settled and the playlists did their thing to give it longevity

Really not sure what radio/streaming platforms will do with Tension but fingers crossed she has their backing. On first listen Tension gets it as its more club beat

Padam for sure but love Tension too.

Padam is just super special and super Kylie. The writers knitted together many elements from her previous hits to create a magic track.

Tension for me, when i first heard it i was like love it, i liked padam padam when i first heard it but tension is more instant. For me tension has a 90's house feel to it but it also touches on songs kylie did in the late 90's such as GBI and Limbo but it has also has that modern twist that helps it sound fresh which helps it fit into the current sound if that makes sense. The only downside i would say about tension is its not a song i think that will be easy to perform live.

Padam took a while to grow on me, but this HOUSE BANGER - which sounds like a classic 1999/ 2000s House Classique!!! - is INSTANT!

Padam Padam - I remember being a bit taken aback by it on first listen, not negatively, it was just such an unexpected sound after her last few leads - but I found it very exciting and instantly catchy.

My first Tension play (as a leak) wasn't in ideal conditions, I played it out loud on my phone while in the car! I couldn't hear the instrumental properly at all, just her vocals and the beat - and the leak wasn't particularly high quality either. Once I gave it a second listen, with headphones, I was blown away by it though. Such a rush of a song.

Technically I'll have to vote Padam Padam based on that, as I don't quite know how I'd have felt about Tension's first play if I'd waited to play it in a less noisy environment.

Tension is a little more interesting than that horrid Padam. But overall the songs are weak to me and not amazing.

Each to their own as we all have different taste but I don't think weak is a fair description. Both are fresh, different and modern and show that Kylie always has the ability to change things up but yet keep the kylie element that we love.

Didn’t like either songs on first listen. Padam has grown on me but I don’t think it’s anything fantastic and not in the same league as her iconic hits. Don’t like tension at all.
Honestly both were so different but Padam took a couple of listens to get a grip, Tension however instantly was irresistible because of the 90s keys being all over it.
Interesting to see if people's opinions will change in the next few weeks when tension gets a chance to settle in.
For some Padam Padam took a few weeks to click which iwill likely apply for Tension.

Padam was an immediate “HELL YES!”. It felt like Kylie had found a fresh and compelling new direction.

With Tension, I was instantly obsessed, just less surprised by it. It reminds me of Skirt in some ways (although it’s more evolved and refined).

I suspect Tension may fare better in longer term replayability, for me.
