this is a heavy listening experience album of 23 tracks, you're gonna listen once a day, twice it would be torture even for drake himself

don't think if he'd release at 9am instead all tracks would be over a million

Feel like we just had this discussion last time Drake put out a single. But well, it was 11pm in Aotearoa when the album came out which means that the majority of the streams it got for today's chart line up with the time frame that the UK missed. Over there Drake has 12 in the top 50, so I'd say that's a pretty notable listening window.

I do think missing out on 5-11am streams is probably quite a bit more of a disadvantage than just the midnight-5am streams tbh, although still safe to say these numbers are showing Drake's star in decline since the Certified Lover Boy era regardless (but still not bad by any means especially after 'Slime You Out' being a fairly big underperformance, I reckon he'd have been in a better position if he released 'First Person Shooter' as the lead single, that is definitely the clear standout / potential big hit of the album I think. Although given he references being 1 away from Michael Jackson's record on the lyrics of the song, I'm guessing he didn't even finish recording it until after 'Slime You Out' hit #1 in the US :lol:)

 

He is apparently taking a break after this album although it might only be for a year. I pray he uses this time off to come back revitalised and make his next album have slightly fewer obvious snoozers on it please :kink: (although this album is a slight improvement on his last 2 solo albums for me).

 

Drake aside, looks like Tems is coming for her first UK hit as the lead artist, suppose it was only a matter of time!

'First Person Shooter' has now overtaken 'Virginia Beach' on Apple (although Doja is back at #1 there). Assuming it'll be similar on Spotify tomorrow with Kenya back at #1 and FPS being the highest Drake song but maybe falling down a place or two.
