I like this more than Windows, I tend to enjoy most songs with Mark on the lead vocal.

Definitely getting the vibe of this album now, and I'm not sure it will be a big success for them (outside a decent week one, of course). Subtle acoustic and folky country leaning offerings are pretty far removed from what Take That are best known for, these songs sound more like the sort of stuff that would have been on a Gary or Mark solo album.

This is better than windows but I'm really not liking the direction of this album at all so far.

Based on what I've heard so far I won't be rushing out to buy the album as I usually would, il be waiting for a price reduction.

I actually prefer Windows, but neither has left a lasting impression on me. I will stream the album to hear the songs, but not sure I'll download or buy a physical. I like that they try new things but the further that happens the more of the audience falls away.

To be fair, it is a hard predicament. However, when their oeuvre is assessed they will be praised for depth and broad scope. Different to artists who give their audience what they want everytime, and are therefore accused of a lack of growth, and choosing commercialism over creativity.

You make very valid points but i think with Take That is about getting the balance right, as i said before Kylie in my opinion is a good example of changing up the style of music for her releases as we have recently saw with Tension but she always manages to keep the Kylie sound in there to keep the fans happy while avoiding making the same album over and over. I do think with Take That they are alienating their fan base with every release and becoming further disconnected from their fans, i know im definitely one of them as they arent delivering what i would usually enjoy from them which is a huge shame as i always enjoyed a Take That album.

Have to say I’m enjoying both this and ‘Windows’ - they totally lost me on the last few albums but I’m actually really looking forward to the new one!
I prefer windows, don’t think this is great and bit of a disappointment.
Have played this and Windows a few times back to back, I still prefer this but at best both are background music for me. I just feel both songs don't build into anything, it's like waiting for take off time but it doesn't happen.

These Days was their last fantastic single.

These current releases do not hit the mark.

Decent album tracks is the nicest description for them.

Enjoyed Windows on Jools H last night, I like the song, the second song not so much.

Good for them as artists though to try something new ..

why do you think, Kylie does os much better in still creating singles people like to hear even if they are not fans?

I like that TT tries different styles, though the output is not what I would have wished for.

Also despite being a huge Rob fan I cannot say that his choice of singles from his albums make an impact of me not to mention the wide public. I liked Mixed Signals which had no success and since then only his collaboration with the Struts. What are your thoughts as with Kylie we see that it can work

I think with Kylie, padam padam just managed to hit a chord with the wider public and to be fair that doesnt happen often to legacy acts with new material, but this aside based on the Tension album, i think she has found a sound that is current in todays market but clearly also has the Kylie stamp on it, hold onto now which im hoping is the third single is an example of what Kylie does really well, its a sound on the lines of her all the lovers sinigle but it sounds modern in todays market.

I think what Take That are missing is they are losing their stamp they once had that fans loved, there was always something about most of Take Thats big hits that screamed Take That but also managed to move with the times and also progressed with their own sound and i genuinely feel they have completely lost that with the new music and are alienating their fan base more and more.

Brand New Sun is a let down for me. I got bored after 30 seconds. It sounds more like a song that belongs on a Mark album, not on a TT one.

I'm still hoping that, one day, we'll get another massive TT ballad. SISYL and the Neverland album are the last albums that truly made an impact on me, no matter what the critics say. I still hold hope for a TT album that stirs in me the same emotions.

Kylie does one very smart thing - she records featurings with different artists, mostly actual ones. Even one duet with Dua Lipa costs more than the whole album.

Her producers are more modern for nowadays + she does a lot of additional releases like videos, reissues, etc.

She never been lazy. So well done for her.
