As Beatport has documented, the second half of the previous decade saw a renaissance in jagged, jump-up sounds that propelled a whole crop of producers to the forefront of the genre. A vanguard of established artists — most notably the Kings of the Rollers — led the charge, but Bou and others were one row back, crafting their sound and shaping drum & bass’s roughshod evolution. After a friend introduced him to drum & bass through the free party scene, Bou got hooked on YouTube production tutorials and the SoundCloud jump-up community from the age of 16. Now 25 years old, Bou is a highly successful artist and touring DJ, having recently remixed both High Contrast’s classic “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and DJ Fresh’s “Gold Dust.” With an upward-trending trajectory and a sound that has begun to move into more radio-friendly territory, Bou is entering the next chapter of his story. Bou’s trajectory has matched the rising fortunes of the genre as a whole, and it’s impossible to deny that he has played a central role in the rough-and-tumble jump-up sounds that have defined the genre. Should drum & bass take a turn toward the mainstream, it seems likely he’ll help write that chapter too. - Beatportal Top 100 Chart History Chase & Status 2005 76 Love's Theme / Wise Up -NAS- 2005 94 Duppy Man (feat. October 27, 20232 yr Author Taylor doing the lord's work and getting a reset to yeet Baddadan out of the top 5 and block a new peak for Asking, she deserves a knighthood xx
October 27, 20232 yr Now look like rest blood cruel summer should got rest as 3 year old record because Taylor she get away with it Edited October 27, 20232 yr by Stitch
October 27, 20232 yr Mitski’s song is beautiful and basically echo all of Bre’s thoughts on Stick Season/Noah’s previous stuff The other 3 songs in this 6-10 section are probs down there with my least fave songs of the year. Baddadan is a noise but I actually prefer it to Asking which is utterly grating. And Too Much was unsurprisingly bland and awful
October 27, 20232 yr Looks like cruel summer has defo been reset. Still can’t see it being a threat to the #1, I reckon it will land at #3.yep definitely a reset A further hammer blow to hopes of 'Out Of The Woods' going Top 40 in the next couple of weeks
October 27, 20232 yr Cruel Summer is the newer hit though, despite being an older song? Still an older song and besides, it might get starred out next week by the 1989 TV songs so another reason why it’s pointless giving this a reset

It’s a unique balance, one molded by the sounds she heard as a child growing up in Johannesburg. Not only did Tyla (born in 2002) listen to plenty of homegrown music, including Kwaito and Afropop, but she was also exposed to ’90s American R&B greats like Aaliyah and Brandy. As with so many artists coming of age in the 21st century, the motivated teenager utilized social media to showcase her swiftly evolving talent; she then teamed up with South African producer Kooldrink for “Getting Late.” The 2019 single is a mesmerizing realization of Tyla’s love for bridging styles. The killer rhythm track is rooted in amapiano, and the singer’s translucent vocals reveal stunning versatility: hypnotic enough for dance music yet packed with pop’s effortless catchiness and R&B’s undiluted soulfulness. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2023 04 Water -1- 0 x #1 | 1 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Social Media Tyla http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
October 27, 20232 yr Taylor doing the lord's work and getting a reset to yeet Baddadan out of the top 5 and block a new peak for Asking, she deserves a knighthood xx Usually I'd agree with you here but this is just CRUEL (no pun intended)
October 27, 20232 yr That moment when 'Cruel Summer' ends up denying a third chart hit from 1989 TV as well as Speak Now TV  It has to have been a manual reset as I understand it so I presume they used the release of the live version / remix as an excuse, I am surprised they've bothered but why not...

October 27, 20232 yr Author 03 | 14 | 20th week Taylor Swift Cruel Summer 5th single from Lover Released: 23rd August 2019 Label: Taylor Swift Productions Chart Statistics NE (05/09/2019) | 27-x RE (29/06/2023) | 28-12-6-3-4-6-7-7-4-5-4-2-6-7-7-17-20-14-3 Sales: 900k+ Certification: Platinum Status: Standard Chart Ratio 06 Sales 04 Audio Streaming 00 Video Streaming Video ic8j13piAhQ Biography The country world feigned surprise when, after three albums of Music Row-indebted songcraft, Taylor Swift formally embraced pop on 2012’s Red. But no one should have been shocked: Any 14-year-old capable of persuading her parents to move from suburban Pennsylvania to Nashville for her career clearly has ambition to burn. And the thrill of following Swift’s rise has been watching her execute it flawlessly, largely because her melodic intelligence is equal to that ambition. Her early, youthful love songs heralded 2010's newly self-possessed Speak Now—which showed off her scathing wit—and evolved into knowing, ironclad pop fare that held its own against boisterous Max Martin production on 1989, her fifth album, titled after her birth year. Throughout, her songwriting has blurred the lines between the public and private, burying enough real-life clues (about, say, scarves and Starbucks) to make clear that only Swift can own her narrative, thank you very much, while still retaining a lyrical elegance. Though 2017’s reputation might have been perceived as a gorgeously constructed piece of dramatic theater—its attendant heroes and villains all real-life characters from Swift's public feuds—all that spectacle proved an attention-grabbing cover for her most romantic album yet. She turned up the romance even more on 2019’s Lover, but it was 2020’s folklore and its companion, evermore—ruminative, relatively lo-fi albums written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic—that earned her the Apple Music Award for Songwriter of the Year. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2009 02 Love Story -1- MILLIONAIRE 2009 60 White Horse -AT- 2009 51 Teardrops On My Guitar -2- 2009 100 Crazier -OST- 2009 30 You Belong With Me -3- 2010 57 Today Was A Fairytale -OST- 2010 30 Mine -1- 2012 67 Safe & Sound (feat.
