December 7, 20231 yr Be interesting to know how many physicals Wham! have produced - how many Vinyl's/ CDs - as it will mean they'll sell (potentially) a fair amount more than last years Christmas week total. I know they're billed as Limited Edition, but I guess they haven't said how many that is (unless its been stated somewhere?)
December 7, 20231 yr https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/a...truck-campaign/ AC/DC fans behind a campaign to get Thunderstruck to Christmas Number 1 has been postponed, Official Charts can reveal, but they have another chart trick up their sleeve. Their new campaign will delay the big push by two weeks to focus on the post-Christmas lull on the Official Singles Chart, which has reaped success for several notable Number 1s in the past. In a statement to Official Charts, AC/DC admins Steevi and Jon said: "After a vote across three separate AC/DC groups, including the original 2013 campaign group of over 100,000 members, we have decided to put back the campaign week to Friday 29th December to Thursday 4th January. By choosing to delay by two weeks, we'll also avoid being caught up in the Christmas songs that will no doubt be prominent the week after Christmas as well.
December 7, 20231 yr With that audience pushing their campaigns back and those who follow Kunts pulling their campaigns forward... makes me think they're all going to be rallying for The Pogues to be Christmas #1. Also... can they not target that week please? Coz I find the first chart of the new year to be the most exciting because lots of hits that get lost "in the Christmas shuffle" all come forward and become the hits they should legitimately be! A lot of "resets" of songs that don't need to be reset, sure, but also lots of songs that got denied what would be new peaks if there weren't so many Christmas songs around... I know it's just the one song but it's annoying when it's usually the chart I look forward to the most tbh.
December 7, 20231 yr If everyone’s getting behind the Pogues maybe they do have a chance. Although the AC/DC group didn’t seem to confirm they would be doing that
December 7, 20231 yr I’m trying to remember the last time that any kind of campaign worked outside of Christmas week. It will be interesting to see how K*nt and AC/DC fare. I do still wonder how many people will bother to download Fairytale of New York.

Depending on what you mean by 'worked' (not sure if you mean going all the way to #1 or just making any sort of chart impact), there was The Krown Jewelz' single that made the top 10 this year.
December 8, 20231 yr Depending on what you mean by 'worked' (not sure if you mean going all the way to #1 or just making any sort of chart impact), there was The Krown Jewelz' single that made the top 10 this year. Ah yes!! I think the K songs are the only campaigns that seem to work. Mostly because of their anti establishment nature. But no sign of the Krackpots on iTunes chart yet… Edited December 8, 20231 yr by GreyAsh
December 8, 20231 yr I'm curious to see how well Creator's Universe campaign actually goes. They're “influencers”, fine, but does anyone on that platform care about downloading music? Some of them do seem pretty confident about their chance of success… Edited December 8, 20231 yr by Chloe🎄
December 8, 20231 yr No sign of Lyrical Lemonade (ft Jack Harlow and Dave) on iTunes yet but Krackpots very low at 178. Not sure any New Entries will make the Official top 40 next Friday (interesting to see how many physicals Kylie gets - but I think in the current climate she’ll struggle to make the top 100). I think Christmas songs will dominate further next week. Then Are we still thinking it’s between Wham!, Pogues and Creators for Xmas number 1?
December 8, 20231 yr Their Instagram is @CreatorUniverse_ and their TikTok is @CreatorUniverse.com but so far most of the engagement seems to be them commenting from their own profiles. There is no link to their song available yet, but they may promote it on their personal profiles instead. Edited December 8, 20231 yr by Chloe🎄
December 8, 20231 yr Creator Universe are pretty much guaranteed the #1 imo, unfortunately. It’s like having 30 LadBabys promoting it lol.
December 8, 20231 yr I can’t see the Krackpots matching their previous Xmas chart peaks tbh - the novelty of them was them slagging off the government / certain MPs. The new one is just a bog standard Christmas song isn’t it, and a fairly naff one at that. There’s no “novelty” factor about it. (Although they do seem to have about 30 versions of it as far as I can tell, so who knows!) Edited December 8, 20231 yr by Lee_J11
December 8, 20231 yr Creator Universe are pretty much guaranteed the #1 imo, unfortunately. It’s like having 30 LadBabys promoting it lol. Yeah, I mean, it all comes down to how much ‘influence’ these influencers have, right? Having a lot of followers doesn't necessarily mean they're engaged. LadBaby have a solid UK audience who follow their lifestyle and family stuff in general, so they bought all the versions of their songs. There’s zero chance the general public will care about them.
December 8, 20231 yr Frankly if that Creator Universe thing really ends up going to #1 then I welcome the death of the Christmas #1 as an institution, can we have a break from the useless 'influencer' charity covers for at least one year please x (I'd be inclined to say it won't get there as a bunch of random TikTok influencers doesn't seem like it'll inspire the same kind of iTunes flurry as LadBaby's army of Facebook mums and this single doesn't seem to have the """""novelty""""" angle but who knows x)
December 8, 20231 yr And everyone here cheered when Ladbaby said they weren't releasing, grass isn't always greener :P
