Saltburn is one of the best movies of 2023 so I'm not surprised Sophie's seeing a huge boost! The scene in question that has the song isn't exactly unremarkable either. Never will I listen to that song in the same light again.

that i think about it

The whole soundtrack is great

It also includes Mr Brightside, doesnt it?

How come Spice Up Your Wife didn't get such a boost after it had been featured on Dr. Who?
Apple Music layout is very bad in my opinion. But due to their algorithm it keeps playing ‘popular songs’ and those songs seem popular even if they aren’t right now so they’re getting a lot of unwanted plays from people who’s playlists have finished etc. Spotify update things better but still have a few of them in their chart playlists. Apple Music isn’t playing any at all.

There’s no Xmas playlists advertised since the morning of the 27th and the Alist Pop playlist no longer has ‘Santa Tell Me’ as track no1!

Yup. Some dance classics like 'Loneliness' and 'Perfect (Exceeder)' too.

Didn't expect The Cheeky Girls ('Have a Cheeky Christmas') to be in there

I haven't seen Saltburn but there's so much buzz about it on social media that I feel like I know most of the key scenes already  thrilled about a 'Murder On The Dancefloor' revival

Hugely enjoyed Saltburn and thrilled for the buzz around it and the boost for Murder On The Dancefloor after that scene.

Perfect (Exceeder) is the one that's been stuck in my head since I watched it though lol.

I mean I’d kind of be up for Murder On The Dancefloor reaching #1 22 years late, but assuming it’s not going to contend for #1 I’m not sure why it needs a reset?!
if the occ are going to give resets for silly reasons to songs like pompeii and teenage dirtbag then surely murder in the dance floor deserves it

I think these resets are automatic now so it doesn't matter how silly the reason is. But I'm worried that its streaming increase happened in a Christmas week so it will miss out?

With Murder on the Dancefloor its long-term success I think depends on whether it gets on the streaming playlists, Capital FM, etc, like Sure Thing, Die For You and Cruel Summer (and how viral it goes on TikTok). It's already such a famous song in this country though, but Running Up That Hill was really famous before too so it could work.

It must be a Christmas film then is it?

Only 3 Christmas songs in the top 50 on Spotify. They should hopefully clear out of the top 50 tomorrow

Not by a long shot :kink: please for your sanity don’t go into it expecting a Christmas movie lol

With Mr. Brightside at #14 on Spotify and #18 on Apple and with an inevitable large New Year’s Eve boost coming, I think unless the OCC reset a huge amount of stuff, it will be in the top 40 next week.
...yeaahhh! Perfect family viewing. :kink:

I haven’t seen it but was more joking at another forum members lounge arguement about Christmas films!

Watched Saltburn this evening, loved it! There's great use of so many classics (particularly 'Rent' by the Pet Shop Boys which I was not expecting) but the 'Murder On The Dancefloor' scene is iconic.
