The Perfect Year by Dina Carroll, New Year by Sugababes. You usually hear these songs on R2 on these days!
Certainly not for me. I'm done with it once Boxing Day arrives.

I can cope up to New Years Eve and then it's totally over for me.

I wonder if because people started streaming Christmas songs earlier than ever this year, that their appetite has now somewhat waned 6 weeks later? Even many of the most popular non festive hits wane after a month or so at their peak.

I only listen to Christmas music between 1st and 25th December

I think that's your most sensible post ever, and I completely agree.

There's also Happy New Year by Abba, but yes there does seem to be a distinct lack of songs about the new year.

Alexa just played Snow Is Falling (AllAround Us) for the first teem!!! Is it doing anythin in the charts this year, or doing a Darlene Love?

My theory for the increase/decrease in the Christmas song streaming is the weather. We had some snow and colder weather at the start of December and that tallied with the increase, now it is much milder (and set to remain so) streaming seems to have dipped..

Yes, very much this!

Someone needs to release a song about that awkward period between Boxing Day and New Years Eve.

We ca give it an American name, like Champagne probñem season or stick season 2

TWIXMAS!!!!!!

And New Year's Day by U2

That has more of a political message though so it's not really a very festive song. There's actually also a forgotten #30 smash from 1992 by Sir Cliff Richard called 'This New Year' and also 'Queen Of The New Year' by Deacon Blue.

True but it's one of their better ones so I'd thought i'd throw it out there.

Also didn't Taylor Swift do one called New Year's Day? No idea what it's about

Yeah, that's on Reputation. Going through my music library I've also got songs called 'New Year's Day' by Bon Jovi and by The Caesars. Then there's '3 Minutes 'Til New Years' by Sia from the deluxe version of her Christmas album, and 'All I Want For Christmas Is New Year's Day' by Hurts but that's arguably more about Christmas.

But I think we have enough to put together a playlist of 10 or so New Years songs :D

I’d take a wild guess and say it’s probably got something to do with New Year’s Day :P

I haven't heard it, but I bet it's about a break up on new year

not at all, it's about cleaning up after the new year's party if I remember it well :D

It's actually about helping someone clean up the mess after a new year's eve party
