December 18, 20232 yr Oh wow, Sam is so close! Clearly Wham! will pull ahead but Sam getting Xmas No.1 could open quite the can of worms for the OCC regarding the way Amazon exclusives are counted. As someone else said though, I don’t really blame him for taking advantage of a system that needs changing. He lost his only other shot at No.1 due to a pretty cruel last minute mega physical sales drop. I love the track and have downloaded it (in a previous week) and bought the CD but I don’t see how he claws the No.1 from here unless he can manifest a download campaign - difficult as many people are unfamiliar with buying MP3s on Amazon.
