How did Greedy swap with Scared To Start on the last week of the year

Sorry I had made a mistake in the Week 51 positions which I’ve now fixed. I may need to tweak the sales again a bit later.

Does anyone have 2024 "sales" estimates for the original Band Aid, "Someone You Loved" and "Shape of You"?

These three, plus "Mr. Brightside" and "Last Christmas" must surely now comprise the all-time Top 5 songs.

I'm assuming Shape of You must be close to being certified 11 x Platinum, likewise "Someone You Loved" must now be very close to being certified 10 x platinum?

Rough estimates:

#1 Ed Sheeran - Shape of You 6.45m

#2 Band Aid - Do They Know It’s Christmas? 6.27m

#3 Wham! - Last Christmas 6.21m

#4 The Killers - Mr Brightside 6.06m

#5 Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved 5.85m

At the end of next year Wham! should be #1. Although it is possible the Killers briefly get a stint there as well

Rough estimates:

#1 Ed Sheeran - Shape of You 6.45m

#2 Band Aid - Do They Know It’s Christmas? 6.27m

#3 Wham! - Last Christmas 6.21m

#4 The Killers - Mr Brightside 6.06m

#5 Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved 5.85m

Thank you. I find it fascinating how close they all are. I think I had expected Band Aid to be a little closer to Ed Sheeran.

A total of 184 Songs made the YTD list at some point this year, with 40 entering in the first week and not leaving at any point, including Naive and Dial Drunk which didn't spend one week in the singles chart all year. Exes entered in week one and stayed for the whole year before dropping out in week 52.

Linger entered and dropped out 3 separate time before entering for a fourth time and staying til the end of the year in week 40.

Valerie and Wonderwall dropped out twice before entering for a third time.

Both EOY lists have now been posted to the charts website
Looks like Christmas songs have sold less this year than last year.

I think not having a winter up to now kinda helped that a bit

Sad days when it's going to be Mr Brightside VS Last Christmas for number one...

Are they outselling Blinding Lights enough to overtake though?

Are they outselling Blinding Lights enough to overtake though?

Mr. Brightside did ~400k more than Blinding Lights this year, so yes.

Thanks for all the lists, incredibly helpful.

Would I be correct in saying there are now 21 tracks with more than 4.2 million chart units all time?

And a further 17 tracks with more than 3.6m chart units all time?

Presumably Dance Monkey and Castle on The Hill must be close to being declared 7x platinum?

Is the EOY 200 posted or available anywhere, so annoying that the OCC tempts us by publishing the top 100 using the 200 stats
Did Cruel Summer have 2 consecutive years of over 1 million then? How common is that? I remember Bad Habits doing it, any others? Blinding Lights?
