Why are you both so obsessed about a song / artist that you apparently don’t like? It’s one thing to express dislike once and move on, but this fixation with following what she’s doing & remarking negatively on it, shifting the goal posts each time to “prove” that she’s underperforming… it is coming across as a vendetta. It’s really petty and ludicrous.

 

Ariana isn’t the first artist and certainly won’t be the last artist to release alternative versions of a song, in the pursuit of doing as well as possible. It’s completely above board, there’s no reason at all for Billboard to disallow it.

 

Newsflash: If ‘yes, and’ misses out on #1 and goes to #2 in the US and UK, it’s not a flop, it’s not a disaster, it’s not embarrassing.

Whilst I think it's fair to say most of the alternate versions in this case aren't particularly creative, and the way they're being released day-by-day shows they're doing it to try and get #1. However, a pop song having even 13 versions is not exactly unheard of (especially for a dance-pop song). But it probably would look more genuine of they were all released on day 1 or as an EP.

 

But for example Miracle by Calvin Harris from last year has like 30 versions.

That’s not usually a week one move tho right? More something to do if the song has been popular for a while but needs an extra boost to get to #1?

 

Seems very challenging to get a guest verse remix out at short notice in week one.

Shame people seem to sleep on Tranquilize. It doesn’t get recognised and has never appeared on any of their Greatest Hits albums
