After witnessing hits from Kate Bush, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Natasha Bedingfield and Mason returning to the charts in the streaming era, what would be your choice of next artist/song that you would like to return to the charts and be discovery to younger generations and in the streaming era?!

 

It could be any topper or Top 10 hit that you think it deserves a revival but probably I would stay away from huge hits such as Toxic or Can't Get You Out Of My Head because I feel like people across different generations know these songs already!!!

 

 

I would love for a Robyn song to go viral, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dancing On My Own is used in something soon and blows up

I saw that Paramore are allegedly releasing re-recordings so would be cool if that brings any of their classics back to the chart in some form ~

I'd put that along with Goo Goo Dolls - Iris and Shakespears Sister - Stay* in already having had a big 2010s UK chart revival, Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me) by Train is another one which had a much smaller UK revival too but any of these tracks could get a more global revival in the future.

 

Vanessa Carton's 'A Thousand Miles' I would also put as likely to get a revival some time.

 

*Stay reminds me of another great pop song of 1992 Tasmin Archer - Sleeping Satellite which is also due a revival I think!

I can see something like 'Cannonball' being used in a TV show and coming back in a big way, although I know that reached its peak in 2011.

I keep seeing Release Me by Agnes all over the place on TikTok, clearly it's popular but for some reason hasn't crossed back over. Maybe a TV or film sync would do it.

‘Ashes’ by Embrace is a song I’ve always loved and would love to see it have a comeback.

it’ll never happen but I always thought Editors “Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors” deserved a lot more amongst the indie of the mid 00s, certainly better than a few of the indie hits that were bigger so could use a prominent film sync.

Yesss. I loved it when Rhythm Is A Dancer became a viral hit in 2008, due to some advert IIRC.

 

It would be cool if something that wasn't huge here the first time did it, like La Bouche's Be My Lover or Ice MC's Think About The Way.

Guetta has murdered Be My Lover already.

 

I think the covers or heavy use as a sample will prevent the originals to go viral sadly.
