It's currently tied with 'Human', 'Rockstar', 'Sing' and 'Somebody That I Used To Know' at 14 weeks. 'One Dance' got 15 weeks, and inexplicably, the current record is held by Diplo & Miguel's 'Don't Forget My Love' with 16 weeks. I would quite like 'Stick Season' to take the record, just so that it's rightly held by a genuine smash!

January 27, 20242 yr Considering it was kept on the playlist over the Christmas freeze 'Stick Season' basically has matched the longevity of 'Don't Forget My Love' now hasn't it? (Unless that was also on the playlist over the freeze period, I forget). What have we done to deserve 2 simultaneous Sonny Fodera adds xx Doesn't look like a particularly vintage week for additions although I need to check out the KAYTRANADA song which hopefully might be good at least. Very late for them to be adding Blanco, decent enough song though. Also good to see Nicki, Tate and Jungle moving up. I am finally back to trying to keep up with new music again (including R1 adds), still a couple of weeks behind so still catching up but a bit of belated appreciation for that NewDad song :wub: I see they've released an album this week, I feel convinced to check it out based on that song alone x (I did listen to 'White Ribbons' from them too which is also really good if a bit more lowkey). A good month for Irish post-punk/shoegaze adjacent bands between this and the SPRINTS album!

They don't tend to play many songs from the playlist during the Christmas freeze though, so it's not really fair to count those weeks as additional weeks on the playlist.
January 27, 20242 yr Oh I know, I just mean it's (possibly) matched the length of time between being added and being removed. You'd assume the Christmas freeze does lead to some songs having fewer weeks on the playlist than they'd otherwise have.

January 29, 20242 yr Disclosure is a 2013 single from their debut album but the song has been remixed recently by Rivo which is why it's floating about again. It's quite different from the garage vibe of the original.
