From 2013, this was the second top 40 hit for the Dutch DJ, thirteen years after the first one. Trevor Guthrie is the former lead singer of the Canadian pop group soulDecision.

Really loving This Is What It Feels Like!

If it's not enough trance, British & Norwegian duo C-Systems just made a great remix of it last December to celebrate the song's 10th anniversary ;)

35. Diana Ross - Ain't No Mountain High Enough 201pts

Writers - Nickolas Ashford, Valerie Simpson

Top points - AaronTM 25, Leonardo 23, DarrenJames 17, Uls2000 17, Liamski689 17

Ain't No Mountain High Enough was first recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967. Diana Ross' version came along three years later, topping the Billboard chart. The writers, Ashford and Simpson, had their own top 3 hit in 1985 with 'Solid'.

Not going too badly overall but I’ve had 3 substantial losses in the last couple of days with Carole King, Linkin Park and Ten Walls. The latter is such a special instrumental - we don’t get many of those these days.
Walking with Elephants and This is What It Feels Like bring back some good memories from the mid-2010s, don't quite love them as much these days, but the former in particular still sounds great and it was wonderful that something like that was ever a hit.

34. Gorillaz - 19-2000 210pts

Writers - Damon Albarn, Jamie Hewlett

Top points - Jester 25, Chez Wombat 22, seven 21

From 2001, this was the second single to be taken from Gorillaz' self-titled debut album.

Well this isn't going too well, another one of my top 5 gone :'( 19/2000 is one of Gorillaz's best, I know the Soulchild remix the best, but the original has a different and still great vibe too.
Lost my top two and another from my top five tonight! :(

'This Is What It Feels Like' is a bit of a banger!

'19/2000' is probably my favourite Gorillaz song too, I quite enjoy both the original and the Soulchild remix.

33. Rainbow - Since You've Been Gone 212pts

Writer - Russ Ballard

Top points - Mango 24, King Rollo 22, AH Gold 22

Rainbow were formed by ex-Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore in 1975. Those of us who entered the last retro song contest will remember the song 'Stargazer' which finished in 3rd place. That one had Ronnie James Dio as the lead singer but by 1979 when Since You've Been Gone was released, he had been replaced by Graham Bonnet. The song was a cover of a Russ Ballard single from 1976. Rainbow's next two singles both reached the top 5.

This was the only major hit for the Kentucky singer. Her follow-up single 'St Teresa' reached number 33. One Of Us was written by Eric Bazilian from The Hooters who you may remember for the excellent song 'Satellite' from 1987.

30. Rufus and Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody (1989 remix) 221pts

Writer - David "Hawk" Wolinski

Top points - AaronTM 23, jimwatts 20, dandy* 19

Rufus were a Chicago funk group formed in 1970. Thirteen years later, they teamed up with Chaka Khan for this single which reached number 8. The 1989 remix went two places higher. Many cover versions have charted, including LL Cool J (number 1), Richard X vs. Liberty X (number 2) and Felix Jaehn (number 2).

Maybe 'Ain't Nobody' will have a better shout in its original version in the #8s - that's the version I put my points towards this time anyway, not such a fan of the remix.
