I’m annoyed because I was literally on Barry Island on Thursday 29th on holiday and they were nowhere to be seen and as soon as I go back to work, there’s picture of the filming everywhere!
Makes sense I guess it’s bound to be quieter now the schools are back!
Seem to recall there was an article at one point saying Neil the Baby wouldn't be back for the final episode, but he's been spotted filming apparently! And

Sheridan Smith

has also been spotted filming too. Looks like they're going all out to have one final celebration of the whole show which is great to see!

I feel like it didn't need to be announced as the finale. It's a series that works open-endedly, that you can end it at any point, and always leave the possibility of it coming back. Even if they had no plans and planned to have it as the finale, don't announce it; then, rhe story never ends for people, even without other episodes.
Yeah, in a way I'm surprised they were definitive about it being the last ever. I think it's risky for anyone to, unless you are absolutely 100% for whatever reason.
Personally I like that they've billed it as the finale as it does give a concrete end point to the story. Sure, it's one of those shows that could be left open-ended if they ever did decide to return to it but then it ends up just falling into the same category as other shows that had their hey-day and come back for repeated Christmas specials that never end up capturing the magic of the original runs. Gavin & Stacey has managed to retain all of it by leaving us wanting more and knowing when to wrap everything up.

The whole cast are appearing on the Radio 2 breakfast show on Monday. From what I can tell as Zoe will have done her last show, Ruth and James are presenting *.*
Probably gonna be 4/5x more than kids' programme, Docror Who, and twiemce/ three times that of rhe soapies
I reckon the overnights will be good and it will top the day - but wont see 10+ million until the consolidated figures come through in a couple of weeks time
The 2019 special did 11.9m in the overnights, totalling 17.1m once consolidated. The show has had another 5 years to grow even more in popularity so I can see some expected truth in 12m+ watching it on the night!

Also in those 5 years though, tv viewing habits have changed drastically - i'm sure it will get big rankings though :)

The consolidated ratings will be very interesting although i still see it getting a big audience before that on the night.
