is that a slow start for TS, no?!

I thought Taylor Swift had released for a minute there, jumpscare

Dua lipa up to 37 on Apple Music hopefully it still gets top 10 somehow
I could do without Beyoncé becoming the next #1

It’s probably not going to be a good week for you then :P

Thahkfully, the record buying public don't stop to consider what you could or couldn't do without!

Come on Bey! These figures are really great, she just needs to stay consistent this week. I don't see Dua doing big enough numbers to do it...

Shame she is 7th on NMF UK though, kind of a ridiculously low placing for clearly SUCH a huge hit out the gate.

Think Beyoncé could get #1 with the song when her album comes out it seems one that will stick around for awhile in the top 5 until then

New Catfish and the Bottlemen music out on Thursday, their first new release in 5 years.

It’ll be interesting to see where it charts on Spotify, didn’t ‘Longshot’ go Top 20? I can see this one going at least Top 10 on the Friday.

Well I like to see a new artist go to #1, not someone who hasn’t had a #1 for 14 years and people are only liking the song because of the artist

Why are you making assumptions about why people like the song?

Same reason why Taylor Swift went #1 and all those other artist. That song wouldn’t have got #1 if it was by someone else

Perhaps, but it's not like every Taylor or Beyoncé song goes to #1. The song is obviously well-liked.

Similarly, if Beautiful Things was released by an artist who didn't have millions of TikTok followers, it wouldn't have entered the chart in the top 20 ( :gino: ). You can make this argument about so many songs and artists. Wanting a new artist to be #1 is fine (obviously Benson is my preferred choice too) but it's not a good idea to make sweeping statements about why people like something, it's quite patronising.

I'm pretty confident Catfish will manage to make the top 40 with a comeback single but why on earth a Thursday release? Essentially chucking a fanbase purchase/curiosity listen day away in chart terms.
