Perhaps, but it's not like every Taylor or Beyoncé song goes to #1. The song is obviously well-liked.

 

Similarly, if Beautiful Things was released by an artist who didn't have millions of TikTok followers, it wouldn't have entered the chart in the top 20 ( ). You can make this argument about so many songs and artists. Wanting a new artist to be #1 is fine (obviously Benson is my preferred choice too) but it's not a good idea to make sweeping statements about why people like something, it's quite patronising.

Just listening to TEXAS HOLD EM’ now and it’s quite good. Hoping it can get the #1 next week now.

I'm pretty confident Catfish will manage to make the top 40 with a comeback single but why on earth a Thursday release? Essentially chucking a fanbase purchase/curiosity listen day away in chart terms.
