We want a third consecutive qualifier. This has never happened for Herbilore before.

So how do we do it? Well lean on an artist who just got us 3rd place in a spin off competition.

Valencia Grace is a superstar, with the songs to back it up. 'Everything Reminds Me Of You' is a banger. Pop fans should love it.....

I've been a Herbilore fan for a while now, but this one here is lots of fun, love the energy and the simplicity too. Get that successive qualifier please!

Alas it wasn't to be

NGL - this NQ hurt. Whereas with Salt Ashes I sent something I liked that I thought would do well, I genuinely loved this song and thought it could be a big result for me.

Think I'm going to get to a round 20 contests and then stick to the anonymous ones. At the least I'll also stop attending listen throughs because it's seriously giving me anxiety (and I don't want to feel like I'm seeking approval)

Sorry to hear that Herbs and hope you can continue to participate here, I always think any country is one right song away from a huge hit, and I'm certain that Valencia's PFSC entry would have done as well in BJSC, this one was maybe a little more subtle than that. Still good but thwarted by the semi draw and few pop nations. We can only vote for 10 songs each in the semi and the alt crowd had about 15 to choose from even before geting to the pop they liked!

Who knows, Valencia could be a star of the future - Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club was a DNQ here many years ago and look what happened to that in the real world.

The listenthroughs are often harsher on pop, as has been stated before a lot, simply because many of the pop nations don't attend them. Comments made there are definitely no reflection of the quality of the song.

Thanks for the comments, they mean a lot. I am going to get to my 20th contest and see how I feel :)

BJSC people - I have a question. And please tell me if I am being paranoid.

I do not look at who sent what songs until I submit my votes. I've maintained this throughout my time in BJSC. From my votes received back, I can definitely see some nations who share a similar taste in music. I also have some nations who have been more generous to me than I have to them.

I also have a group of nations who have never given me anything/next to nothing (in semi finals or finals) - I have 3 nations who I have given a combined total of 238 final points to & in response over semi finals/finals I have received 0 points from. Is this just a coincidence or should I be worried that I've pissed people off? (possibly beyond repair)

I really don't see what reason anyone would have to not vote for you specifically. There are plenty of countries that I rarely ever give points to or receive points from, it's just down to taste and a little bit of luck.

Remember you can only vote for 15 out of 40-42 songs (a higher proportion in the semi but also half the time any given country won't be able to vote for you in the semi at all even if they wanted to).

The best evidence I can give is that Cor Lupus still do well all the time despite annoying everyone xx
