Actually laughed out loud at the Imagine comment. Especially having listened to the song.

Also, how do you get to a 9.5 / 10?

Your rankings add up to 82 / 100, so that's an 8.2 / 10.

You say the second half is 8/10, so the two added together becomes an average of 8.1/10.

That's some hefty "upgrading" to 9.5

In the Warrensphere the maths works differently after a few pints 😅

OK here's an impartial review from someone who's not a hater: me.

I really enjoyed part 1 of the album last year and 'Burning Down' and 'Bloodline' are two of my favourite songs of 2025. But the new songs (i.e. part 2 of the album released last week) are definitely a lot weaker on the whole than the first part. Singles aside, I really like a couple of the upbeat ones ('Getaway Car' in particular) but the other songs sound a bit beige and boring tbh. I'm a bit disappointed as I was expecting better!

In agreement with you it should of stayed as a chapter 1 because that is by far the much stronger half

Well the numbers aren’t a science. Each individual score is not related entirely to the final score. So it gets bonuses for having no skips etc having 3 10’s gets a bonus few points too. Not in agreement at all I think the b side is decent but nowhere near the same level as the A side but prefer what you want, there’s a reason he’s a streaming powerhouse, versatility

I had a flick through this earlier… it’s definitely not for me but I can see why some would like it. It has that X Factor winner vibe that appeals to people who want their music to work well in the background but also to have some big sing along sections. Also it has those vaguely relatable lyrics that are kinda generic enough that anyone could think of a situation where they apply to them and can infer a vague personal connection (something from the Ed Sheeran school of songwriting)

…and I know that sounds a bit judgy, but I don’t mean it as being so… music is no different to any other topic or hobby imo, the more straightforward stuff appeals to the masses whilst people who are heavily into something tend to look for something different and more interesting. We obviously have a lot of the latter type of person on a specialist music forum, which is why we probably have a higher proportion of people who don’t like this as much. It seems to me that this is an okay enough album of music for the masses.

For an American worldwide artist releasing the album of the year 73k is a bit poor isn't it, considering the size of america, barely scraping top 5

I think Pitchfork nailed with their 5

Carry You Home is still by a mile the best song of his I've heard so far. I do like Bloodline as well though, that turned into a big grower.

Eternity sounded dreadful on first and second listens.

Haven't you trolled enough? Guys, this person is clearly mocking you all.

This is not a too deep album. It's a mediocre album no one cares about. Number of people that care about this album in the whole universe: 1, you. No one else cares.

Actually that's the main problem this album has had. It would have been better if it had had terrible 0/10 reviews, at least people would have talked about it, about how bad it was. But gettinbg mediocre reviews, have made the album invisible I guess.

It's nothing we haven't heard before though and there are so many singer-songwriters of his ilk. I'm not hearing anything particularly standout myself but then again this isn't generally my lane of music...

One thing I’ve noticed and this isn’t at anyone in particular is that there is like a bizarre grasp on what they’re saying. On twitter for example most of the hate was coming from people whose whole discography was Taylor Swift Sabrina carpenter and Addison Rae and it’s like? The main critique by them of Alex warren is that it’s bland boring npc music but their music taste is as generic as it gets. It doesn’t really make sense. I like every genre certain artists are for different times or moods but the pretentiousness from those who are solely in a girlypop box is quite bizarre to me. TTPD was one of the most bland dragged out albums that was a chore to listen to and fans of that are calling this album a 5? Was there an Ordinary type hit on TTPD? How can an album with the song of 2025 on it be a 5? Sorry but no

You said it, Liam... You said it.

It's very odd your targeting TTPD , which is obviously meant to be seen as a body of work rather than 1 stand out track, proven by being the best selling of last year by a considerable margin

And back up your argument by basically saying only 1 song on YBAK is actually very good 😅

This 🙌🤣

Apologies for the delay but polite notice to avoid making things personal here please. I don't think we need to be bringing people's emotional intelligence into any discussion, and on Alex Warren of all people. If you're not adding any value to the discussion by trying to have a swipe at others just don't post because it's going to be deleted.
