Black Box straddled the 80s/90s divide. This is so joyous!

Day 24 - Though arguably at their strongest in the 80s, they had massive highlights in the following decades including this, ahem, one x

I very much approve of those last two choices, 'One' is arguably U2's magnum opus, such a beautiful song. And I would possibly somewhat controversially argue that 'I Don't Know Anybody Else' is better than 'Ride On Time' (or at least just as good as!)

April 25th – A song you like that is about a famous historical event

challenged by Severin

A certain Mangø has been complaining about these challenges being too easy… well… here is one that will surely prove to be the most challenging of the month yet. Severin thinks there are enough songs in the universe about historical events from the past, so it’s up to the rest of us to struggle to find them. Tears will surely form during this unfathomable exercise.
If it proves to be too much of a challenge I may consider changing to his other option midway through the day…

Yes, it's another my BJSC entry and I have a high doubt this is the song that the challenge wants. However, I request for a defense because although this sounds like just a game soundtrack, it actually represented an actual famous Chinese battle called Chibi (Battle of The Red Cliffs). There's a 2-part drama film released in 2009 dedicated to this event.

It certainly won’t be overruled by me, which is one of the perks of being the host, I don’t have to veto songs if they don’t fit the theme, it’s up to the challenger of the day to call out any discrepancies with their challenge! :P

Big up to Todd In The Shadows for leading me to this song. One of the I'm sure numerous songs about the Black Lives Matter movement and protests, especially the most tumultuous ones back in 2020 following the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, etc. Even now I still think we have a long way to go bc there are still people who don't think that what the police do to numerous black people is inhumane.

April 25th: song about a historical event - it has to be this about the Vietnam war!
