This list is 🤯 not good 🤯

 

Voted for U2 and Beyoncé/Shakira but neither of those are exactly among my favourite songs by their respective artists. I know the Xtina song is a ~classic~ but it's not really to my taste personally. And 'What Makes You Beautiful' always was and still is awful, 1D somewhat redeemed themselves with later material (some members more than others) but they got off to a rough start x (though it's still only the third worst song on the list, I'll take it over James Blunt and Sean Kingston :puke:)

 

Odd that so few of these were before the turn of the millennium btw!

I haven't checked but it surely must be one of the most common adjectives used in the title of a number one single?

Actually the adjective 'good' appears even more commonly in titles of number one singles (even without having to resort to including the edge case examples of 'Goode', 'Goody', 'Goodies' and 'Goodbye') - maybe I'll do a poll of those the next time we have a #1 with the word 'good' in the title!

Voted for all the ones I actually like so U2, Xtina, Bey/Shakira & Ne-Yo. I did also at one point have some appreciation for Blunt's song but these days not so much.

 

Also a couple of examples of "out of everything, that was the one that got to #1" here with Labrinth and especially Prince. What a hideously dull song when compared to something like When Doves Cry.

There's no absolute classics in the list but several goodies. I actually am more of a fan of Ed Sheeran than most here but 'Beautiful People' is one of the worst no.1 songs ever. Something about it really annoys the hell out of me.

For me it also sits in the 'double bubble' club as I very much enjoy it both in its original form and the Freemasons remix.
